Description To be sure I was kind of worried that the moving and stuff had ruined my run. I was on a roll there, a picture a day for sure sometimes more. It took me 2 to finish this one, but I am back in form. Maybe not so much production since I can only draw at work now to much stuff to do at home.

I get that sometimes...theres one called Elizabeth and almost all the initial comments were like ..."dude I thought you had gone into photography for a sec!"

Its the shrinking thing. It makes everything look good, thats why artists make giant sets of trading cards

Thanks

Whoa...okay...this takes my perusing of traditional art to another level! Jeez...what can I possibly say to express my awe and respect for this type of talent (not to mention, I happen to love the subject matter - finally a female who is toned to practically perfection)! Awesome work...I'm more than impressed! And now I'm "watching" you!

Great from.. she is in top notch shape.. I think a mud wrestling meet might find my butt on the bottom with this lady... all in fun I hope. Great job.. Wish I had a job where I could draw at work. Hugs

This is downright the most striking of all of your pieces. The tone and shading are phenominal! My husband was a fan of yours when he was on here more. He told me to check you out...so here I am! Beautiful work and attention to perspective, shading, detail, form...a pleasure to behold.

Actually you are right and not by my standards. I checked out my galleries stats and Gabrielle body has been looked at twice as much as any of my others and faved just as many times.

I hit the spot with that one I guess

Thank you!

Umm....Yeah!! Whatever you did, and the time you put into it are worth it! Just beautiful work...I can only imagine the concentration and time you spent hunched over this piece! Again... Everytime I see it again I find something new that I enjoy about it. As I think someone else said that dimple in her hip just adds to the piece. And on her hair...I wondered a bit about why it looked unfinished...but the subject of this piece is obviously her body...I mean heck Leonardo had half finished pieces of work all over and millions of people adore him!

xkxdx In reply to AngelHeart49 [2005-04-02 22:57:13 +0000 UTC]

that is exactly why I cut out her face and left her hair unfinished. FINALLY, you have no idea how many times I have tried to explain to people. " no that wasn't just me not being good enough, obviously I know how to draw hair..."

Thanks again!

do you ever go to the dev meets??

hi. stumbled across your page through . i HAVE to know: what type of paper do you use? i noticed the texture in it doesn't seem to look like that of the bristol i use, and the sheen of her skin seems to be unshaded at all, rather than spots that have been erased in the usual smudging that occurs in my pencil drawings... how do you do it? does the paper you use prevent smudging, while still allowing such smooth gradations? any tips you could give me would be much appreciated. thanks!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xkxdx In reply to AyamePasse [2004-12-24 20:45:16 +0000 UTC]

Your comment was cool yet a bit weird. I think I know what you mean. I use Canson green sketch pads. They are really nice paper, but I think the bristol is also. The canson is very very smooth though. I use toilet paper and cross hatching to shade my work. I never ever touch it with my fingers and I rarely erase. Though I make jokes about my sketch pads eating erasers. I usually erase in the outside line stage. Sometimes I over use my T.P. and I have to lift some highlights out. I hope this is what you wanted, I am really not versed in any sort of art speak at all I never had any real classes. that means talk to me like I am a mechanic and I will get it LMAO
Thanks so much!

AyamePasse In reply to xkxdx [2004-12-24 21:13:34 +0000 UTC]

lol! yeah i never had any classes or anything either, and i usually don't erase except when i'm working on correct shapes, but my hand tends to smudge the graphite anyway, since i have no method i can think of to keep from resting my hand on the picture as i'm working on it (the side of my hand is usually metallic after a few minutes, lol) anyway, thanks so much! that really helps!

As much as I hate to make the hundred and twenty-second comment on something, I have to here.
The ridges of muscle down her back and the big deep shadows and subtle highlights give her an awesome ripped body tone without looking like some cliche' oiled steroid-pusher. I love the muscles behind/under her shoulder and just under her deltoid.. and that dimple in her hip works freaking wonders for the picture.
The hair is a little patterned, but won't keep me from faving this.

hey 122nd is a charm. Congrats for being like maybe the 5th person to make and intellegent comment on it!!

thanks very much

BTW all the posts talk about how I left her hair like that in all her pictures on purpose. People just didn't get the artistic liscense I guess. I mean it's not like I don't know how to draw hair. LOL

The shadows and highlights are incredible, and contrast effectively! I'm amazed by the level of realism you’ve achieved mainly through smooth tones alone!
