i have the same lense on my D70 and when i take pictures of the moon at ISO 800, IT COMES OUT JUST A BRIGHT WHITE DOT!!!!!

Why? Because you let the camera do the exposure and you don't make it underexpose it a big bit

yeh that makes sense but my camera wont let me get into that setting, like its locked or something, its in the menus but i cannot click on and use it.. arrrggghhh... its so fustrating! and i cant adjust white ballance and shutter speeds... arrrrrrr! gonna scream i swear!!!
