That line was inspired by George Carlin's opening line from the 2nd Season episode of Thomas & Friends, "Old Iron," in which James the Red Engine talks shit about Edward the Blue Engine always being late behind his tender--so to speak--only to end up needing his help after some kids fiddle with his throttle the next day. In the end, Sir Topham Hatt allows James to go back to the roundhouse to rest before he can take his train, and Edward is rewarded by getting to go to the Sodor Steamworks to have his worn parts mended, to which he replies, "It'll be lovely not to clank."

Thomas & Friends is how I got into trains. In fact, I just got back from chasing a train all over Schuylkill, Carbon, and Luzerne Counties here in Pennsylvania. Today started off rainy, but by 3:00 P.M., the Sun started peekin' through the clouds.
