because skilled artists on this planet are subconsciously programmed to promote war via their work maybe..

That's beach is meant to be on an unexplored exotic planet so it would be wise to keep some sort of defense handy in case of emergency.
This is because the illustration is intended to be consistent with its background - the Aline comic book, which just tells a fictional story - so I think it has nothing to do with promoting war, as selling knifes on your local market doesn't promote stabbing people.
