i noticed my original fan art was getting a bit more attention than i expected it too- which made me mad because i did such a crap job on it.so i decided that i would re-do it to ease my conscious.
im MUCH more satisfied with how the redo came out, personally. but lemme know what you think. :]

I love the mood of this piece. It's absolutely amazing! I think my favorite part has to be the window, though. It's beautiful. What is it a fan art of? Also, do you still have the original up here? I'd love to take a look at it.

Charcoal is so hard to work with! I rub my drawings a lot whether I want to or not, so charcoal is like hell for me. I wish I had the control you have. How do you keep your drawings clean with charcoal? Even if I didn't touch my drawing, it still starts smearing one way or another.

oh goodness you should see me with charcoal. i make a MESS.
absolutely. my eraser is my bestfriend. and i have this little blender thing made out of tightly rolled paper my art teacher gave me a while back- also a best friend. i lay down the bases in charcoal, then attack it with my fingers, that blending thing, and the eraser. then repeat.
its so much fun. xD

The blender thing is called a tortillion, right? Do you make your own? I tried to make my own once, but I failed dearly. My hands are like a little boy's hand--always sweaty and sticky, so if I tried blending with my fingers, I'd leave blotches where the charcoal/graphite sticks and never erases.
Do you also write? I love your descriptions! It sounds like you write.

haha probably. i lost the original one the teacher gave me- so i had to make my own. and i have the same problem sometimes! i have to keep washing my hands and i need to make sure that when i do blend w/ my fingers, i do it in quick, bold strokes. no blotching allowed!
the funny thing is, i used to.
and alot of times before i fall asleep i think of these wild stories- but by the time i wake up ive mostly forgotten them. :[

I use to write too, but that was back when I wanted to be good at everything. Have you ever thought about expanding your writing or is your focus more drawing?
