Description Textured and rendered in Bryce.
My average workflow is: I create a raw model in SketchUp, after that I refine in Wings3d. It allows you to work very quickly. But often I use only one of this applications and sometimes Blender too.

Great wall texture. Minor point: the right mandolin looks to be floating. And maybe it is a bit thin?

There is a little button on the top, the instrument is standing on the button, you may see if you zoom in.

A, ha. I missed that detail. Still can't really see it in zoom, but now I realise that several instruments have such a button. Sorry!

Oh by the way, a (Bluegrass) mandolin hasn't the thickness of a guitar. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Web…

Thank you! I think the textures are very important to make an image believable.

Beautiful work Simone! They are really beautiful instraments. I love how you have done the scroll work at the top. Great job with your textures as well! Can you play the Mandolin? They have such a nice warm sound to them. Yea!

I cannot play mandolin. The only thing that I can play a little bit is my sweet little lap steel guitar.
But it's rather noise than music when I play.

Aww, that's cool though! Is it hard to play? I like how they sound as well. Yea!

For me, it's hard, because I can't find much time to learn.
I think, playing an instrument is much more difficult than creating an image, no matter if you use a computer or brushes and pens.

I hear you, there is never enough time. Too bad we have to sleep. I started so young, I think that really helped. Kids are so much more open to learning new things. It's harder as you get older to keep all the information from coming out your ears.

Ooooooh!... Thought it was the real thing and was going to ask if you played until I saw the caption...

Nicely tectured!

Such a nice comment, thank you very much. I created a lot of musical instruments, will post them gradually.

I own a few guitars so I know abit... let's see... last count was 7 acoustics and an electric or two and a couple of autoharps... The textures you yoused reminds me of some of the "inexpensive" instruments from the late 1950s and early 1960's... Very well done. the only thing that might be missing is a slight would bump map to soften the reflection

This one was inspired by Bill Monroes Bluegrass mandolin, but not correctly. I forgot to model the second corner.
I own just a simple acoustic guitar, but I can not realy play. The only thing that I can play a tiny little bit is my lap steel guitar. Because I love the corny sound of crying steel guitars.

For a while I had one of my cheaper guitars tuned open 'E' for "bottle neck" playing... fun! I look for to seeing more of you instrument models...

Did never use a bottle neck, I use a steel bar.

same general effect tho' the pedal steel or lap steel can give you a nice twirly cry... bottle neck is an old blues guitarist trick allows for playing rhythm guitar with lead guitar flourishes... you tune the guitar to an open E or G then slide a glass tube or bottle neck over you little finger... or over your index finger... play as you normally would with an open tuned guitar and add melodic flourishes by sliding the glass tube over the strings.

I know the bottle neck and know how to use;
to play the Dobro for example...
Love the sound!

you can also play it "straight" like this mp3 of a song I wrote: [link] which is a recitation Ecclesiastes 3.1-8 based upon the the Jewish Publication Society's translation of the Tanakh.... I suppose I could have added a bit of bottle neck to make it interesting...
