One of my friends, suggested I try and draw something Firefly related using Mal and Inara. Being that I did want to draw something with Firefly, I took it on. I'd also do almost anything she'd ask, so heres hoping I don't have to off anyone either.In other news, I seem to have spilled some of the syrup those little orange slices come in on my keyboard. Times like these I wish I didn't eat while by the computer.

I really like the sketch so far, but I can't give you much advanced critique as
1) Being too out-of-proportion myself, I know nothing about human proportion
2) You haven't inked or colored it yet, and that's what I have more stuff in
So I'll just say I can't wait to see it inked!
But meanwhile, I think that you should either make Mr. Mal's legs a bit wider to make him more macho, or give him baggy pants. And mebbe yer wanna make the gun more modern? Just as a tip, the finger on the trigger- the top of the finger-knuckle-thing should be rounded, not completely flat.
I really love your character design, I love the Inara character!!!!! Can't wait to see more!

Great picture. I love the loose and 'hyper-reality' style. Good job on drawing his signature weapon too.
