I'm really seeking for critics, I don't really care about favs and/or pageviews I just would like to improve my way of producing art
So Please tell me what you think of it !

Cool pic!
How you made the border?

xnoux In reply to LomeX [2008-07-20 20:36:22 +0000 UTC]

that's really easy
I just duplicate the layer, select the one under
I enlarge pressing alt to center the view,
I add a radial blur "zoom"
then a radial blur "rotation"
but don't use an effect to high to get a better result, I think the border is better on this one : [link]
enjoy

It really is quiet

I know you seek critics, but at this one i can not give any. Yo named the photo quietness, and believe me, you've put every word of quietness in it. Therefore no critics because you cant get any here !

For me, the most important thing in art is that the artist shows all he wants to show in the picture, and to represent a certain feeling. I don't care if some parts of the photo are overexposed or underexposed etc.

Wow.. perfect, brilliant view.
But I don't like frame. It catches eye (or "look" don't know how to say right xD) on itself.

bibliofila In reply to xnoux [2008-06-28 22:38:16 +0000 UTC]

what is the mean of HDR?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

xnoux In reply to bibliofila [2008-06-29 00:34:07 +0000 UTC]

High Dynamic Range

"Briefly, basicly, HDR is about combine 3 shots together, 1 over exposed, 1 under exposed and 1 well exposed, in order to see the dark and the bright parts of a shot. Well, that's the simple explanation, that's what you have a big range of colours and tones "High Dynamic Range" = HDR.
What makes HDR awesome is more in tone mapping / sharpening / etc
Is that OK for you ? "

enjoy

vejuzchill [2008-06-23 21:15:06 +0000 UTC]

how did you get this to come out so well? i use exposure bracketing, but this looks almost artificial. post production filters?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

xnoux In reply to vejuzchill [2008-06-24 12:21:01 +0000 UTC]

I could make a tutorial of it... if I remember every step x)
I just used basic filters

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

vejuzchill In reply to xnoux [2008-06-24 15:55:22 +0000 UTC]

can sort of see the lines where the filters end but the useful information for me would be which filters with which exposure, and the layer sequence you used. and if you did the batch process before or after the filters. that was a mouthful. did you get all that?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

xnoux In reply to vejuzchill [2008-06-24 16:07:12 +0000 UTC]

well well well... lemme copy/paste you the note I've sent for the contest :
"
3 jpg HDR +2ev / -2ev
Photomatix Pro 3
Tone Mapping
duplicate layer + hard light (50%opacity)
Tone/saturation
Noise reduction
Sharpenning
"
That's in fact pretty basic, I've applyed the filter on wanted parts of the photo (sharpenning on the bottom and noise reduction on the sky). Selective colour modification for the sky and saturation... well really nothing that complicated

vejuzchill In reply to xnoux [2008-06-24 20:04:37 +0000 UTC]

it's just getting used to the steps for the end result. cool thanks. i've heard good things about photmatix, but never used. will give it a run.

shit man! i can't believe i have never used tone mapping before. i downloaded the plugin for ps and it is sweeeet! is the photomatix program better? mad props for this one!!!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

xnoux In reply to vejuzchill [2008-06-24 21:19:49 +0000 UTC]

didn't try the plug in but photomatix is know to be a little better than the plug in
(you can read the difference on their website )

A solitude photo without people is difficult...
But I like yours! And the border is great too, though I'm normally not so fond of them.

yeah that would have been so difficult to think about a real concept... I actually just picked up a shot I already had that fitted to the subject... anyway ^^
Thank's about the border ^
