Description There is a legend about a bird which sings just once in its life, more sweetly than any other creature on the face of the earth. From the moment it leaves the nest it searches for a thorn tree, and does not rest until it has found one. Then, singing among the savage branches, it impales itself upon the longest, sharpest spine. And, dying, it rises above its own agony to out carol the lark and the nightingale. One superlative song, exempting the price. But the whole world stills to listen, and God in His heaven smiles. For the best is only bought at the cost of great pain.... Or so says the legend.

I hope you don't mind, but I've been looking for something like this for my first tattoo. You really have done a lovely job. I was hoping for permission to have my tattoo artist recreate this on my right upper back. I hope this doesn't upset you. I don't want to copy, it's just so beautiful and it's exactly what I was looking for. It's so hard to find a thorn bird picture to go off of, and most of the artists have tried drawing up ideas for me, but they don't look like this. I saw it and I knew it was what I've been searching for all along.

thats a really beautiful story. an ur picture fits the theme well. it's devoid of cumbersome details, and gets straight to the point.
