Description Alright, alright. It is the Chinese year of the dragon, and this is emphatically a Korean dragon, but you get the idea.

As usual, my feet are pretty awful, and there's a thing or two I would have done differently if I did him again, but on the whole I suppose he's alright. One of these days I need to just sit down and do foot studies for a dozen types of feet, but I never seem to have the time. I have on occasion wanted to do Rincewind's luggage, that could be a foot study in itself if I ever do. The face was fun; I rarely do open mouths, so this was a pleasant break from the routine, as were the whiskers.

This dragon is in oiled padauk, done for my very great friend , and might I suggest that you visit her page and read some of her fabulous short fictions. I might or might not add a lacquer finish to it. Probably not, though. I'm planning to follow up with a cherry wood water snake sometime around New Years, but first, I think, another ebony Luna.

As always, you can see more of this dragon offsite at My Little Woodcraft. Check out the expanded finished gallery or see it come together in a work in progress gallery.

Mike! This is awesome beyond awesome. Thankee! I am sure it will enjoy the company of the otter, too. Can't wait to see them in the fur and scales!

Looks great! About the feet, you could excuse it as being a water dragon making webbed feet better at treading water.

Haha, hadn't even considered that. I think it's the fact that all the toes are in a flat, even position. Nothing really holds their fingers or toes in perfect alignment.

jeezth, is there anything you CAN'T do?!
-I'm pretty sure, if you got enough people asking you, you'd carve a kitchen sink!

Awesome work, Mikey! It's always inspiring and has a 'zen-feel' to it!
