Wiegert Motors Corporation:
US company that built the FIRST EVER Hypercar in the world.
WMC, founded in '71, had build the Vector dubbed "W1" (W2 Prototype) in '72, and released on the public in '73.
This beast featured a tuned Chevy V8 Twin Turbo engine, which got placed as mid-engine.
The "W1" had a phenomenal 8000!!! CC at "810brute horses"/604KW giving 886.3NM Torque RWD at 4800RPM (7500RPM Redline), and this in '72.
While this does not sound impressive today, do understand, this is 50 years ago, a Prototype no less.
However, the engine simply could not take the power when driving long courses, so, when the actual W2 got released, it came with a "normalised W2 Chevy V8" as is ("untweaked"), giving:
6000cc !!!, 804HP/600KW, 580nm Torque RWD at 4800RPM, which, for that time, was still massive impressive:
In comparison, a 72' Lambo gave:
1972 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV V12 Coupe 4x3bbl Weber: 3929cc/385hp at 5,750RPM (7850RPM redline) giving 400 NM Torque RWD.
A '73 Ferarri then gave:
1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona (man. 5): 5625cc/347hp at 5500RPM (7500RPM Redline) gave 432 NM Torque RWD.

The Beast was released with the "W1 Prototype" DIGITAL dashboard, unique in all ways, and featured several incredible (for '71!!!) other feats, like:
Wedge Design (the car was enormously aerodynamic, especially for '71/'72).
RV Transmission (not a joke, look it up, it HAD AN RV Trans!!!).
Chassis/exterior composed of carbon fiber, kevlar, and aerospace-grade materials.
