2010: Minamino Soyokaze, better known as the SEGA Toylet weather reporter, first appeared in a demo for the SEGA Toylet in 2010 where she was assaulted by the perverted Northern Wind that was being egged on by the Sun. As they struggled, Minamino's dress was lifted by the Northern Wind and exposing a patch of white fabric between her legs. Aroused by this sight, the Northern Wind attempted to blow miss Soyokaze's dress completely off to see what she had on underneath her dress. Despite their best efforts, the Northern Wind and the Sun were unable to remove Minamino's dress from her body. And the gameplay reflected this dynamic as well. The longer the user urinates, the longer the struggle goes on. The harder the user urinates, the higher her dress goes. So naturally, the longer you play the harder it gets. So to speak. Despite this, the reception for the showcase was quite positive, and the SEGA Toylet was given the green light to enter production for the public.

2011: Having moved into the public eye, SEGA had to rethink the game in order to make the context less like sexual assault and more like a freak accident. And so the original "北風と太陽とあたし" game was scrapped, and in its place was the new game "ドキッ！暴風警報発令". Now instead of playing the role of a sentient cloud trying to remove a woman's dress in a public park, the player would instead be playing the role of a freak wind storm that happens upon the location of a reporter who struggles to keep her dress down on live television. Unlike in the original version of the game, Minamino is much more successful in preserving her modesty this time around. Of the two appearances so far, this is arguably her most recognizable one. While the Toylets had some success in Japan, the official Twitter account for the Toylets (twitter.com/toylets ) attempted to drum up popularity for the console. And on the Twitter's front page banner was Minamino Soyokaze, essentially making the second face of the Toylets. The primary face of the Toylet console being the stylized Manneken Pis. In 2014 the Toylet's Twitter account posted some information regarding the characters from its games. Among these was the reveal of some personal information regarding the now infamous weather reporter from the SEGA Toylet (twitter.com/toylets/status/494… ). And it from here that her name was discovered. But at this point in time the Toylets have already lost a good portion of their popularity. They were still around to some extent, but not nearly as prominent as they once were.

2017: With the remake of Yakuza 2 being released, the SEGA Toylets managed to sneak onto the game. More specifically, the prototype versions of these games first showcased back in 2010. This gave the Toylets a resurgence in popularity an entire two years since the last post from the Toylets' official Twitter account, and also allowed for people outside of Japan to have more access to the Toylets and their bizarre games. It also allowed long time fans of the Toylets to finally remove Minamino Soyokaze's dress to see what she has on underneath. But Minamino came prepared with an array of clothes for each difficulty, allowing her to be fairly stylized outside of her iconic windblown dress. Sadly, while this popularity was certainly a boon to the Toylets, it was a fairly short lived boost. In 2021, the official website for the SEGA Toylets (toylets.sega.jp ) quietly removed advertisements for the game "ドキッ！暴風警報発令". While the other games are still given some prominent advertisements, the Toylets themselves seem to have stopped production. Or at the very least, they are not being produced as much as they were in their prime. But it is a rather somber end for a character who helped put the Toylets on the map is now being erased from the very console she helped sell. Of course, this is SEGA that's being talked about, so Minamino Soyokaze is essentially in the same boat as Alex Kidd in those regards.
