Sorry if this is a silly question, but when you shade/highlight, do you pick/do the shades/highlights for each base color individually, or do you simply use all around shade/highlight colors along with a blend mode layer?

i usually make the shading in a single color with a multiply mode in a new layer , then change the color of different areas by selecting the specific regions i want to change

XONG XONG XONG THIS IS SO AMAZING! Where to even start?! Every element of this piece pulls me into the story. As I said earlier, the action is just electrifying! I feel like Pain's attack is coming straight for me and I need to jump out the way too! And the expressions!!! The crazed malice on Pain's face is terrifying. You can also tell from Kisa and Hatsuharu's clenched teeth what a tough fight this is! I'd say this is about the moment they realize they're not going to make it out of this one. AND THAT BACKGROUND. SO SINISTER!!!! Especially those blood red clouds in the top left!
