Description My first attempt at a birdy. X.X This picture almost killed me and my muse till my wonderful sister sat down with me and gave me play by play critiquing. I think it turned out quite wonderful. Im proud of my first pegasus. ...If anyone else asked me to make wings for a while i think i might cry.

Generally I don't like manipulations where the horse is smack-dab in the center of the picture, but I keep coming back to this one and marveling at it being the real exception to my rule.

A beautifully glowing piece, very well-executed. Just lovely. ouo

HA! I just realized that I am super guilty of sticking the horse in the middle of pretty much everything I do. That is something I am going to be working on for the future.

I love the soft colors and blur on this. Also, you did a beautiful job on the naturally flowy hair. A lot of artists really struggle with that.

Thank you so much I have a really hard time with the hair. I seem to be getting better at making it flow, but it's the highlights and lowlights I need a lot of practice with. <3

Do you have a tablet? Or do you just use a mouse?

And yes, highlights and lowlights are kinda evil.

I do have a tablet. Learning to draw nonstick hair has been a challenge. Hair is my nemesis!!!!! I have been trying to vary my brush size to make it look a little better. I think I need to mess with the opacity of my strands too. XD

First attempt? Damn woman, thats awesome For a first! The best thing to do with pegasi is to paint in the shoulder/build the shoulder muscles up, which is a giant paaaaaain in the behind.

Fantastic placement; you have a really good eye for it. The only thing I can pick up on for this, mainly, is the lighting, its coming in from more behind, so this side of the pegasus woudn't be as bright... lighting is a pain, I'm still struggling with it!

But still... this is awesome. >.> When I finish these commissions, we're doing a trade man. If you still wanna!

Thankies! XD I just started learning to detail the bodies/faces. I have been reading every tutorial i can find. Bodies, hair(gerrr hair), and lighting are what I'm trying to improve the most on. ...not to mention blending backgrounds. >.< I am starting to be able to blend small things together. I have only been really do manipulations since August, and I'm really excited that I see small improvements with every picture.

I would loooooove to do a trade!!! I also seriously appreciate the critiques!! I am trying to hard to get better...right now Dizzy is my only critiquer.

You're very welcome Tutorials are great, but you'll find looking at where the lights coming in from will help too, for lighting... its eviiiil. It really is. And your manips are simply just <3 Awesome. Wish I could have been so good after I'd just started!

<3 One day, we shall I have one more commission to do, then I'll take in a few trades I think. See if I can refresh the musage a little. I'm a little finicky at critique too, but I'll do my best when I can, since I struggle to get my point across, ooor fail entirely, haha

Take your time I am obsessively working on one picture. >.< I hope its turning out as good as I think it is. I'm attempting to blend multiple backgrounds, but the concept kind of eludes me. Lol. I'm struggling with hair and lighting the most it seem. I keep finding so many beautiful backgrounds that I am afraid to use...and Manes and tail are my kryptonite. Practice makes perfect right?
