Personality:
Kouta is your average tough and manly pretend wannabe gangster. He says a lot of curses and swearing. He usually just charges head on and get pissed if someone is insulting him. He also shows his fists a lot of time, but actually won't even try to hurt/punch someone since he has no guts to do it. He acts mean, tough and manly all the time. Without his partner, he would always be alone. He doesn't trust anyone at all, partly due to his past.

Besides all of that, he also has overly protective side. He hates seeing anything in distress, depression or frightened. He would help anything/anyone anytime, without thinking of a single consequence of what might happen next. He is the type to usually think others before himself.

The only person he trusts is his partner, Chisei. For some reasons, it made him feel responsible looking after her. It wasn't just that his reason of staying next to her. The other reason happened when he, fatedly, met her.
When he looked at her eyes, sparks ignited and he immediately fell under her spell.

Kouta would always be beside Chisei. He always agree with her. He always sides with her. He always go along with her.
And, only whenever he is with her, does the only time he opens up and shows his real personality. Which was a kind-hearted, pure and sensitive guy.

Back to Kouta's bad personality, even though he can't hit anything, at all. He does hit the books all the time. This is exactly why he was perfect on becoming a doll. He is a smart guy. And because of that he was bullied all the time.
As for his tastes in styles, he's pretty much a conservative type. He likes old fashion things.

The Past:
Kouta was the son of two most known doctors. He had such a good life. He always gets what he wanted not thinking how it would affect other people. He was so smart that he even skipped grades at school and went immediately to high school at the age of 12. Because he was always top 1 in every subject, the other students became jealous and couldn't admit the fact that they were beaten by a kid 3-4 years younger than them. So they started making Kouta's high school life miserable. The bullied him, kicked him, punched him, threw him, and did other painful things to him. Kouta was so young that time, that he found it hard to stand up nor tell anyone about it.
He cried a lot of times by himself. Knowing that no one could save him, in his growing pit of darkness.

It was 4 years later, that he found out an even more depressing story about himself. While his parents were away, he accidentally knocked over a cabinet in his parent's study room. That cabinet was top secret and was told to never touch it. Curiosity got him that time. He looked over the papers that fell. There was a cut out newspaper that has the heading, "Family Murdered" and it has a picture of a baby boy who survived. The kid looked exactly like him. He looked through other papers, seeing some birth certificate, some name changes, and a picture of a family that has "X" marks on their faces, besides the baby.

He became paranoid. Whenever he looked at his parents, all he see was a bunch of silhouettes with a mad grinning faces. He wanted to ask, "Am I your son, mom and dad?" He wanted to know everything so bad.

It was on July 18th, that everything cleared up. It was the day of his 16th birthday. He just graduated high school. Kouta's parents decided to throw a huge party for him.
He had no friends his whole school years, and to throw it off, he didn't trust his parents about his identity at all. All he sees again was a bunch of silhouettes. He trusted no one in that party. No one.

He could hear some voice in his heard saying, "Get out of there. Your life is in danger."
All of a sudden, the lights shut off and his head started hurting. He had visions of this small, ghost-like thing. And just like that he blacked out.

He woke up, strapped onto an experimental metal table with tools on carts beside him. His parents showed up, still grinning menacingly and explained every single detail that he had been wanting to hear.

"We killed your parents. We've been keeping track of your parents all the time and knew that you were a next candidate to become a doll. So all we had to do was erase your parents out of the way, raise you as our child, and experiment on you when your "Doll" abilities shows up.
It was just so funny how they died trying to save you."

He was saved by the doorbell. His fake-parents went up to get it and discussed something with, people who sounded like the government. He escaped the straps by using the tools next to him. He found out that, that place was their basement. He never knew about it. He ran away through the back door. And never looked back.

That day, he vowed never to trust anyone, ever again. Until he met his partner.

The Present:
In the bustling city of Tokyo, the citizens seem like dots on a map. Every dot
seemed the same, mindless, only interested in their own personal demands. However there were few dots that were different. Few dots that were unwelcomed, the dolls and the contractors.

Out of the few, there was a boy who didn't exactly know his place in this world. He walked aimlessly through the busy streets until he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. A gang, they were placing markings on the wall of a private building, with animal parts. It was probably best not to get involved, he started to continue walking till one of the gang members caught him staring.

"Hey, what are you looking at?"

The boy cringed, "Nothing, just the gross act you idiots are doing"

"You've got a big mouth on you kid."

"Hmph, whatever, as long as you don't show your face in front of me. You'll be fine." He was about to turn around and run but then something caught his eye. It was a puppy on the floor, shivering. It still has a collar around it's neck.

He couldn't just let a poor puppy die a miserable death, so without thinking he rushed on and grabbed it quickly. Before he could get out though, the gang members circled him.

"What are you doing, you little squirt?" One said with his head held up high.
He patted the boy's shoulder. "Who said anything about taking our stuff? Didn't ya mama tell you not to do that?"

Just the word "mama" triggered the boy's anger. He slapped the gang member's hand and yelled, "You fuckin' retards. Harming an animal is just low."

"huuuuuuh?" The gang members paused before they laughed out loud.
"Maybe we should just use you then."

Without any hesitations, they started beating him up. He was still hugging the puppy, protecting it from their punches. and because of that he had taken many punches to his face and kicks to his ribs. His head started bleeding, of course no one passing by was going to help. They only cared about theirselves.

"This should keep you in your place." One of them had picked up an iron pipe.

The boy closed his eyes, he wasn't ready to die. He was expecting the pipe to have been swung down already, but it hadn't. He open his eyes to see a sword through the guy's chest. He turned to see the others run.

"We should probably leave before authorities arrive." a girl who looked about the same age reached her hands towards him.

The boy reached out, still holding onto the puppy. They both started running away.
