This is a pen and ink pointillism drawing I did of a simpler time, before computers, x-box and all of the distractions of the βmodern worldβ, when the passing of a train would leave young lads in awePen and Ink on Illustration Board
Finished size is 24" x 36"

Nice pic! I love the detail on the train, the houses and trees in the landscape of the background! The smoke is great and well textured, I really like the big, two story barn off in the distance!

The details are striking, and the contrast of each smog of smog is fabulous to the point where this actually looks real. The background is also down wonderfully with texture and shadows done accordingly. This can't get any better.

I miss those times, even though I was never a part of them, I'm too young. But from the things I've heard about it, and the amazing stories my father tells me, they sound almost magical.

passings of trains still leave me in awe. once a year an old fashioned passenger train like this comes through my town. the townspeople don't think anything of it, but i always go through to see it. trains nowadays aren't as nostalgic though.. i find the graffiti more interesting. i love this work, the smoke especially is whimsical yet realistic, and makes me wish things were still a bit simple.
