While I agree there is a level of hypocrisy present when the Western Powers do this, I do not think North Korea is the ideal situation to point out. Kim Jong-Un is certianly the greater of the two evils in this case.
All thing considered, North Korea is still a rouge state, building nuclear weapons against international law, exploiting and oppressing the general populace, and threatening their neighbors with both WMD's and conventional weapons alike; the latter of which is a perfect justification to label the North Korean government a danger to peace.

Well, given that our Union is the first federal republic of countries to enshrine freedom of speech, is the most liberal system of governments on the planet, and didn't start two World Wars, I think we have a pretty solid track record compared to...whooo would you suggest should lead the way to disarmament if not us? Should we disarm before the other two super powers? The ones with the hundreds of millions of bodies in mass graves they produced in the last 80 years? I think the choice is obvious that this, quite frankly, unhelpful platitude.

Your Union has already wiped out Libya even as Gaddafi had already given up his nuclear program. Plus, it has the record of wiping out the Korean Peninsula in the fifties. So yeah, they have a point in fearing US invasion. They see the nukes as a deterrent, and rightfully so.
