Marble Hornets actually claimed to be a fake, they even said it was. TribeTwelve and Marble Hornets use two different Operator symbols. Considering that Tim, Alex, Brian, and Jay are still alive, Noah Maxwell hasn't been heard for three months after the last video, which was when Noah was about to go into the boardwalk alone at night. Marble Hornets and TribeTwelve represent the same "creature", but two different operators, one is a fake, maybe both. But TribeTwelve is the most real I've seen yet. Considering, we haven't heard from Milo (Mr. Scars) after he attempted a suicide. gg

Hey, did you contact Tribe Twelve's owner Adam Rosner for this? Because I have some weirdo claiming he represents Tribe Twelve for Adamn offering... something I can't figure out... for my Creepypasta fan series, and I'd like to contact Adam or someone in Tribe Twelve to confirm the guy's legitimacy, since he's completely incoherent and refuses to discuss the extended Slenderman mythos of Marble Hornets and Tribe Twelve in a realistic, business-like manner, instead acting like it's real and even pretending to be possessed by Jeff the Killer.
I like to RP as much as the next girl, but this guy is just completely incoherent.

I have, in fact! And Adam gave me the go-ahead, provided that I give him full credit for his characters and anything Tribe Twelve-related in general (which, I was going to do anyway.) I wish I could have put characters from Marble Hornets and EverymanHYBRID in the game, but I never could get a response from either team. Adam is fairly easy to reach if you contact him via Tumblr (I can give you a note with his Tumblr blog, if you prefer.)
As for the guy you speak of, I wouldn't be talking to him at all. He doesn't sound like he's a sane person, and I've met people like what you're describing online before... Just don't talk to him. Or listen to anything he says, since he'll probably start asking you to do very strange things, like run around at night and look for fictional characters in the woods, or something much worse.

Actually... I'd very much enjoy Tribe Twelve's contact info. Some input from them on incorporating their extended Slenderman mythos into this project would be very useful. Thank you!
And actually, from what I've heard, Hoodie and Masky, due to their nature as Marble Hornets originals, are fair use, much like Snuffbomb has made Laughing Jack. Jeff the Killer and Slenderman are also fair use, since they have no clear creators. Most people credit the Creepypasta website in general for those two. I also heard that most of the othr creators of the more popular Creepypastas have done the same, making their characters fair use for fan projects and such. Still, I'd much prefer to get their permission, as well as input on how best to incorporate and portray their characters.
Well, after some further interaction, it seems this guy does NOT represent Tribe Twelve. It seems that, all along, he was asking us to include his Creepypasta OC in our fan project... which is him. That's right. He's claiming to be a Creepypasta himself with real-life magical powers. I've also checked out his Facebook. The guy is legitimately batshit. As for his incoherent speech? He claims he's practicing Latin. Even though I saw no Latin in either of our posts.
And my girlfriend made the mistake of offering to draw his Creepypasta OC/himself because she was trying to mediate between us.

Slenderman is actually the copyrighted property of Victor Surge, aka Eric Knudsen. He developed Slenderman for a photo contest on the Something Awful forums. I was originally going to have Slenderman appear in the dating sim, but I never could get a response from his creator when I did. The Slender stabbing incident pretty much nixed any hopes or plans I had at that point, so I had to abandon the idea. On his dA page, he also states that he does not want Slenderman being put into any more games or developments - or stories, for that matter - without his explicit permission. Since he's basically deleted his FB and left the internet from the drama back in June, well... There's no hope of that ever happening.
Another example of how protective Slenderman's creator is of him is that when a group of people started a Kickstarter project to make a Slenderman movie, Surge actually sued them and won the case.
Not many people know about Slenderman being anything more than a Creepypasta or urban legend.
And yikes... yeah, good thing you cut off interaction with that person there.

Really? That... is interesting. I've done serious research and found the two most likely originators of Slenderman, and neither were Victor Surge or Eric Knudsen. Are you certain of this?
Though if he's not around anymore, I'm not sure how he goes about stopping people from using Slenderman.
The Seer uses him just fine, as does Blue Pact...
So far Slendereman had yet to be named in Carrier of the Light, aside from a voice-only segment at the end of the second chapter, though Jeff has only referred to him as "boss" or "old man." Makes me want to rethink actually having him appear in front of the main character after she defeats her third Pandora's Remnant.
Oh, and I recently found out that Slenderman's brothers, Splendorman, Sexual Offenderman, and Trenderman are NOT Creepypastas, technically. Splendorman is a "Happypasta," while Sexual Offenderman and Trenderman are "Trollpastas." Go figure.

So long as people aren't making money off of anything that features Slenderman or claiming that he is their creation, it should be just fine. Also, if you're referring to the old cave paintings and some Germanic folklore, they feature similarities to Slenderman, but they aren't the same thing. Victor Surge is the online alias of Eric Knudsen - and yes, he is definitely the originator and copyright-owner of Slenderman - and it could be that the old images provided some inspiration for Slenderman. He has an account on deviantart, and if you look him up on Google, you'll probably see the news articles from June 2014 featuring him.
The other slender variations are just plays on the name "Slenderman," and Enderman from Minecraft was inspired by his internet mythos. Trenderman came about with the photo of the clothing mannequin, and the Sexual Offenderman we are most familiar with was developed by Arcanineryu here on deviantart. Splendorman was developed by Neil Cicierega back in 2010 as a spoof of Slenderman, and yes, he is also canonically described as a "happypasta."

Hmm... Okay. I'll have to look that up. Thanks. You've definitely done further research than I have.
Oh! And have you seen the "Creepypasta Animation: Raised by Wolfs" on YouTube? www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zcPPU… kick-ass. Though, oddly, it features three characters who are technically not Creepypastas. Korbyn Jumping Eagle from "The Seer," Lazari from "I Eat Pasta For Breakfast," which are both technically OCs for Creepypasta fan projects, and Mr. Creepy Pasta, who isn't even a character, just the most popular YouTube reader of Creepypastas and tends to lend his voice to certain Creepypasta fan projects. My other problems with it (of which there are very few) is that it doesn't have Laughing Jack, and also, it copyrights BEN Drowned to "Creepypasta" in general, which it also does for Slenderman, Jeff the Killer, Zalgo, and Smile Dog, even though his creator is clearly and very well-known as Alex Hall/Jadusable.
