Prologue
My sharp teeth rested on my lip as i watched my victim writh on the floor below me, trying to cover her neck with her white hands, tears running down her pointed face. I paused for a moment, breathing in deeply the girls scent. Sweet, like a freshly blossomed rose. I opend my eyes to see her staring up at me, nothing but fear in her dark eyes.
“I’m sorry....” i breathed, before pouncing and sinking my fangs into her white neck. She seemed to scream, but no sound came out. After a moment or two, i stood up, staring down at her limp body. I walked away, summoning all my will-power not to glance back.
“How was it?” a voice said from the shadows.
“Sickening, yet satisfying” i replied, glancing towards the darkness. I could sense him smirk. Bartholamu. The one who had turned me just mere months ago.
“You will have a new name from now on, little one. I’ll look after you, dont you worry” he came out from the shadows and held me, stroking my thick course hair. I looked up at him, his midnight eyes cold yet inviting, his dirty blonde hair slicked back. I swallowed. He seemed to read my mind, answering my question.
“Your new name will be Maxis. Welcome to the family” he said, opening his arms wide. I could see figures among the shadows, senseing my hesitation.
“Its good to be home” i said.
