I did it fr my dad's birthday.... Which was a month ago but since I can only see him this week end, well...
As you can see, it's pretty much inspired by August Rush's scene... As soon as I saw this movie, it reminded me of my father, of me, because like August/Evan, my parents gave me music. Even if i'm far from being as good as them all
I don't have as much as memories as I wish with my dad, but certaily guitar is a big part of it. The melodies, the way he plays. Jonathan Rhys-Meyer does looks like him like crazy, seriously, even if he's younger, but they have... I don't know, same mouth, same eyes, same way to play guitar. Lot of things, same aura, maybe. Somehow, watching him during the movie was like watching my memories of my dad playing guitar.
Well, sorry, I talk too much. I hope he will like it... I'm quite stressed about it, to be honnest. I hope he will like it...

Oh, and yes Crys has brown hairs on it because... Well, that's my natural color and I wanted to be my true self on the picture. But put her black hair and put him blond hair, and you've got Crys and David in my novel. Because after all, ... This is all about them. Us. I love ya, dad...

me too, this movie became one of my favourites... I don't play a lot the guitar because I've always said my only teacher would be my father. Unfortunatly, life made that I didn't grow up with him... He finally offered me a guitar last Christmas, and now I try my best to play well enough to play with him...

Sharing music (or art anyway) with a parent must be a great thing (I never had the chance, I'm too much shy to do that). It grows within you, like everything parents teach to their children. Maybe you don't have a lot of memories about him, but this one is really a great one

Yes, my mother plays piano and my dad guitar. I started taping on piano before walking XD It's sad we don't have it anymore, and I can't play anymore, so now I'm concentrating a little more on guitar, but I'm not regular on it!
No, Crys isn't orphan, her father disappeared, but that's the point of the novel, she will go looking for him... He has a pretty important role in the story
