Description It is time to finally present these species outside the Russian art-community.
Unfortunately, I don’t have much time just now to translate the text on the reference sheet from Russian into English. BUT, I am more than capable of just giving the translation below!
Caelestis are CLOSED species! Please, don’t make your own one, unless you are a part of the fictional universe of mine!

Caelestis are creatures of the Vi’Iaer order, the only species belonging to it. They are distinguished by strong muscles, which allow them to keep large prey and even rise to the sky with it. Despite its large size compared to other animals living on the planet ZT-1398, Caelestis are mainly scavengers, picking up the remnants of the feast of other predators or taking away the carcasses of dead animals. The weak eyesight of these creatures is compensated by keen hearing and smell.
This species is divided into two main subspecies: the prairie species, which was the only one until a certain period, and the coastal, which has appeared relatively recently.
* * *
Prairie Caelesta is the main, original subspecies of the Caelestis. They live in the wastelands or once grassy plains, only occasionally coming across in the woods. By nature these creatures are very careful and fearful, that is why they are always difficult to find. However, when confronted with a male of Prairie Caelestis, one should slowly back up in order not to accidentally lead to a flash of aggression, since the males of this subspecies always violently protect the territory from strangers, even ready to sacrifice themselves.
For the most part, they play the role of scavengers, since in their territories there are a lot of stronger predators for whom it will not be difficult to win these creatures over.
Mating games of this subspecies are truly amazing. During the mating season, the males and females get together, and those males that have chosen the female start to court with her in every possible way. When two males fight, it goes without bloodshed. They open their feather crests, confusing the enemy with contrasting patterns on them. The first Caelesta, which loses balance, comes off a loser.
At the present moment, Caelestis are almost completely exterminated.
* * *
Coastal Caelestis is a larger and younger subspecies, resulting from adaptation to new environmental conditions. Unlike its congeners from the mainland, the Coastal subspecies are not so aggressive. They are tolerant of creatures that live nearby. They feed exclusively on fish, leaving the remains of food to smaller creatures, thereby recreating the ecosystem destroyed after a nuclear war.
Matriarchy reigns in this subspecies, and therefore females choose a male for themselves. Some court him with various offerings and “dances”, and some females face off against each other.
Regardless of the subspecies, Caelestis are egg-laying. Chicks hatch after five months. Toothless and helpless, they follow their father everywhere, who guards them until they get stronger.
Caelestis are not tameable, except for the cases when they are taken away from nature as an egg, but such way of domestication is extremely rare.
The Coastal Caelestis are tameable and are often neighbors and pets of the Ayrelians.
* * *
Despite the formal ban of the authorities, there are plenty of poachers, and therefore the destruction of the species and trade of Caelestis eggs is very active. That is why Caelestis are found more often closer to the forests.
They may have rare colors, and each of them depends on a specific mutation during the development of the chick. Very light Caelestis merge well with the steppes, but are less genetically aggressive than their relatives. For such males, for example, it is very difficult to defeat the enemy, since the contrast on their feathers is small. Very dark Caelestis, on the contrary, are more aggressive than their relatives, but they are very easily disguised closer to the “forests”. Albinism and melanism are also found among Caelestis, but such phenomena are very rare.
Crossbreeding is possible, most often this happens when both Caelestis are pets. The percentage of birth of a full-fledged and viable chick is rather low, but the hybrid looks very beautiful, which is why many breeders deliberately breed different subspecies again and again.
Caelestis are not very intelligent beings, even if they have a mind that allows them to communicate with other beings. Most often, they use either sounds or direct hints of what they want. They can be taught the language only at a basic level, in terms of simple sentences.
