Description Im so proud of this guy but he would just not take a good picture! I blame the fact that he is all black X3 Sortof blends together

What? You were expecting another clay dragon XD I make more then just clay

Ok. Toothless here was inspired by browse.deviantart.com/art/Toot...
Pattern found here browse.deviantart.com/art/Toot...

The pattern was greatly edited as I saw fit. I changed most of the head, the wings, his toes, and the tail fins.

This guy is made out of a nice, plush black fabric. Almost completely hand sewed (because my machine is old and hates me). His eyes are resin that I first painting on the computer, printed out and pasted on the back of the resin once I took it out of the mold. the eyes are only glued in and as you can see they need alittle more glue. The wings are semi embroidered to see the different sections. The legs are also filled with decrotive sand to give it a nice weight.

Took about 3 months to make. :3 I usually worked on him while watching the new episode of HTTYD

Lovely eyes! Your plushie looks super complex and well made. I too make Toothless plushies - for photographing, I tend to put them on a blue background (not white, too much of a contrast that it kills the details) and try to get as much natural light as I can. I even take them outside, always remembering to take along my lint roller! Nothing shows bits of stuffing, cat hair, etc. like black fabric! Hope that helps!

That does Thanks! I might try taking this guy outside and see if it helps.

Of course, now that I go to look at my Toothless plushies I realize that I /have/ used a white (or off-white) backdrop so...forget I ever said that. XD But natural light. Yes. Lots of natural light - diffused a bit by light clouds (or early morning) seems to help avoid harsh shadows.
