Wow, this new version is even prettier!
I loved the design at the bottom hem of the skirt, I'll try to make something like this in my cosplay too ^^

yes. i love this skirt color much better than that florescent thing you had. fair warning: be careful with the shoulders because if someone really had that big of a skirt they'd have their elbows laying on top with their shoulders scrunched a little more. (or if they did have their shoulders that relaxed, they'd have their hands resting together in the middle)
(i saw this first hand at prom) ((which was boring))

Yeah, really. "Cream" does not equal "warm almond" or whatever it's called... I love my prismacolors, but they're meant for bright colors, not tiny differences in shading.
Okay, are you telling me to be careful with the way I've *drawn* it, or the way I've *designed* it? .... the way I've drawn it. I know, I didn't use a reference and I just kind of drew her standing there before blocking in the area I wanted the dress to go.
:< That sucks. Didn't ANYTHING exciting happen? (I'm sick, btw, so I warn you against coming over...)

yes the way you've drawn it. and no. the bass was too loud and the whores were taking up the dance floor. anyway, i'm sick too. and so is mitch. and so is roxana. and so is rue. so we all need to have a group quarantine or whatever. or figure out who patient 0 is and eliminate him/her.

Yes, I think so too. I want to buy a ton of cogs and sew them on by hand, but this is mostly my imagination and not my wallet talking. :U

I'm sure you can find affordable co--oh okay no I just googled prices for cogs, good luck with that.

Hahaha, I'm thinking plastic but spraypainted bronze, it should have the same effect for the details around the skirt and then I could splurge on the cogs for the goggles and Cthulu. (Already planning this out like a BOSS)

Plastic spraypainted bronze was what I was thinking, but I dunno anything about makin costumes so I didn't know if it would look terrible or anything. Regardless, its a cool costume idea thing, you can't really go wrong with steampunk (okay okay no you can go very very wrong with steampunk, but I trust you'll do a good job of it)

xthebucketwhisperer In reply to Torquill [2012-04-23 03:38:09 +0000 UTC]
I have no idea either, I've never worked with a plastic/spraypaint combo. Anyway, it would be closer to the ground, so I don't think it would be too important? (thank you for your trust, I'm flattered)
Actually now I'm curious as to the worst parts of steampunk time to google this
(who am i kidding i don't have time HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO ASSIGN THIS MUCH HOMEWORK AT THE END OF THE YEAR my gOD)

Haha tell me about it (is waist deep in ASSIGNMENTS and PROJECTS)
Nah I finished most of em now, but I have an ADVENTURE over the next couple of days in a rainy field doing ecological surveys, and then next week I got some training days for a job in a science lab and ANOTHER ecological survey to do, then the week after that I got some exams and then I'm freeeee (to die from formaldehyde poisoning over the summer, assuming I get this job).
(If i suddenly disappear from the internet for a couple of weeks, let that above paragraph be testament as to the reason)

I got back last night from my adventcha, over the past week I've had anywhere between 2 and 4 hours sleep per night, so I was exhausted when I got back. Was also feeling sick for a lot of yesterday due to both drinking the night before and exhaustion (I really hadnt had that much to drink considering how bad my hangover was and I'd been drinking a lot of water through the night, so I reckon it was just tiredness a lot of it).
It was really interesting though! I came away from the event with a new appreciation for my course, plus it was a chance to actually meet half the people I'm studying with who I only see over the video conferences.
I still got so much to do but the most urgent stuff I have to do I can do tomorrow and sunday, won't take too long, and then the rest is for a couple weeks away anyhow.
