The contrast between the blue of the butterfly and the color of the floor/surface is really neat. I like it.

I love the composition. The butterfly is absolutly lovely. The pic is a tad blurry though.

i really like the simplicity of the shot and the contrast of the bright blue against the dull background. nice work

this is by far my favorite. besides the simple beuaty of the butterfly itself i think the image works because of the framing/cropping that you did. also, the contrast of the delicacy and softness of the butterfly against the rough concrete background. excellent juxtaposition of content. really nice stuff. i am going to dev watch you. :0)

Thank you very much. Watched you back. Those butterflies are incredibly hard to catch. When they stop, they usually close and look like the owl butterflies.

yes, they are a bit troublesome. they also respond to the sound of the camera's autofocus lens, so i have to put the damn thing on manual half the time.

That's unfortunate. You can't shut the noises off?

if the shutter speed/ISO/aperture/etc aren't set right i can't seem to get it to not show up. i have to get a better macro lens and that may help it. i checked the camera settings for a way to eliminate noise, but so far no good. i may take it into this local shop for servicing and pick their brains for answers...they deal exclusively in nikon, so....

This is a good photo. Love the texture of what I think is cement. Specialy the oblique line that gives the photo a lovely unbalance feeling that plays with the serenity and beauty of the butterfly.

That's beautiful! and a nice composition.
How did you stop your camera steaming up in those butterfly houses? or was it not as humid as the one I went in!?

xTwisTx In reply to beckic [2006-07-14 21:20:41 +0000 UTC]
It wasn't too humid, and only about 85degrees F. Condensation wasn't much of a problem.
Thanks for the comment. ^^

I adore this. The muted background conveys how rare and special the beauty of the butterfly is.
