Swabia is cultural, historic and linguistic region in Germany.
It has no clearly defined borders but is normally thought of as consisting of Wurthemberg (including the Hohenzollerische Lande),
and of the Bavarian administrative region of Swabia.

The last one is located in the southwestern Bavaria and was annexed in 1803.
During the Nazi era, the area was separated from Bavaria to become the Gau Swabia.
Area: 9.992 sq km
Pop : 1.787.000

The Swabian language is an Alemannic dialect of High German and is very difficult to understand by the standard German-speakers.
It's a pride of the Swabians.
