Very interesting. The lighting looks a bit off though. It looks somewhat unnatural, and at first I did a double take thinking that it might be a photo manip.

But I like the pose and idea. Interesting!

That's a very beautiful concept (I read what you wrote in that comment to ~CarmenMCS .) , and well executed I love how you captured the movement in this.

What I love about your work is that you stray far from the typical blank-faced model type fashion portraits. Your work seeps with creativity, experimenting with many concepts and always creating a great story I love that the models always show character. Thanks for being an inspiration

at least, the "artist"of this could explain something about the picture. It is a really worked photo indeed, but the theme of it may not be that much good.

Also, I am very annoyed by all the Deviantart community... nowadays every time you go into the front page, you find women abused. If these kind of pieces are in the front page, it is because the people fav them, and don´t come to me saying that it is art and composition bla bla, women have a hard time try to be respetated and valued, you know.

I couldn´t expect such a childish rampage. I am surprised, really. You are a great photograph but you lack manners. I don´t see why you have to be so unpolite ^^ First of all, you are being rude to someone who has take the time to study your pic and your whole gallery (I even faved and commented on other work of yours, pal) and this person is just asking for an explanation of the theme, as I could´t see, as you said, the real meaning of it: I didn´t want to believe this was a pic of abusive theme. That is why I asked you to provide an "artist comment" to explain the photo, just because you were receiving a lot of comments on your art saying that is abusive and machist and all of that. If you explain yourself, it shoul be enough to cut that kind of comments (or the most of them, at least) "I suggest that before you go off on some other crusade, you might spend some time thinking about it a little more and if that doesn't work, you might try asking first" you said that, but I wonder if you realized I was doing it with my comment...

Now talking about the pic, jerarquy of the sizes it can´t be applied just so all along. It is an ancient concept related to symbolic representations with a poor level of iconicity, which is not the case of photographycs, as you know. Not all that is "larger" is also more important, as not all that is in a diagonal represent movement, for example. You have a lot of experience with photo, and as you said, you also read a lot and I am sure you have seen a whole bunch of artists´ works, your mind should be far more open as to have a better perspective of "what I think I am saying" and "what the others think I am saying" before complining about how much other people can´t understand your art and calling them inmature nerds of 15 years old XD

I wonder if you tough that just because of my quotation... you know, by saying that, you are calling the most of my workmates, bachellarts of the most important and most modern university of comtemporary art in Spain... you are calling us inmature nerds of 15 years old because we like videogames XDDD and you even assumed that I am Catholic... well I am agnostic. Catholics are some of the most machist people I know, and I wouldn´t be here defending women rights if I were one of them, that makes no sense. Also, when you are talking about wood figures and all of that, I guess you are refering to the Imaginería? I never liked that kind of art, but not because of that I am not going to respect and value it. Just like you shouldn´t be devaluating the work of so many people in a videogame. Some videogames have a level of design, iconicity, graphics, plot, voices, creativy, etc, not seen in many other art manifestations. They are also interactive art a great didactic weapon.

If you ever were being abused, maybe you could understand better the feeling of some people when looking at this pic, instead of thinking that they are not open-minded. Also, I couldn´t have a tv when I was that young, so I don´t think I was grown up the way you imaginated. I was the most of the time working, studying, and yes, reading. Reading a lot not to think about terrorists, personal problems and family issues. Como eres de Texas y parece que hablas español, me imagino que puedes hacerte una idea de lo que estoy diciendo.

So, I think I have been studying and practicing art many years as to have the right to comment on other people pieces. I bet you realized you were totally wrong about me and that you judged by first sight, just what you don´t want people to do with your art. Being egocentric about your own art it is just another symptom of not-open-minded people, also just the same you are telling the others. You are making contradictions. Oh, and you know, I don´t want to have a "profound" quotation, I want it to be funny! Laughing is so good for healthy!

I am sorry, this turned too long. I am glad you take the time to reply to my later comment, even if you have a lot more comments. Just don´t take this as an "oh so bad critic", as it is not. I am just talking, as art is, over all, a way of communication.

I'm going to clear this up for you, since it seems to elude some people. This image is symbolic, the woman represents the feminine force, i.e. intuition, ART...the men represent the linear, masculine force, science, logic, etc. See how LARGE the woman is and how SMALL the men are? Guess who's side I'm on. It's a story for the ages ... reason tries to control what it cannot ... creativity.

Unfortunately, you can't see beyond the surface, a woman and ropes. Do you walk into a church (I assume you are Catholic) and haven't thought about complaining about all the violent images there, I mean, nailing someone to a piece of wood is pretty over the top. And I understand ... what are you 14 or 15 years old? Raised by a tv set and probably spend most of your time in front of a monitor ... And do you believe that quoting a video game is profound?

And I'm not just speaking to you, it's a major problem. No one really thinks, but then, in order to think, you have to experience things. And you have to be able to read ... it gives you access to great minds. Not the ones in video games.

I've taken down a lot of my work on here because there are far too many immature comments, and the system for screening adult content is pretty weak. This doesn't however devalue the system.

I suggest that before you go off on some other crusade, you might spend some time thinking about it a little more and if that doesn't work, you might try asking first.

I don't like either of the guys, wish her nipple wasn't showing, but I do like the dress and pose (better than the one that was DD'd). Her facial expression is better in this one too, I think.

you can see underpants too...

That aside, this shot is great. The model is fantastic, and the blonde guy in the back complements her... the other guy looks kinda like he's gotta go ....

And that dress is awesome! (if a little high )

Peace
