Description Yesterday was my little buddy's 7th birthday!   So, of course, that means I upload a picture of the cake I made for him last year. Today, he gets his last turtle cake, which makes me a bit nostalgic. He gets Donatello.

Anyhow, this Raphael cake was traditional red velvet cake, which was a pain to make. No food coloring, no beet juice. I used cocoa rouge, which is a naturally reddish tinge. The cake flavor was okay, but it was too dry for my liking. So, traditional or not, I now prefer to make regular moist chocolate cake. Hazelnut and vanilla fondant, with Nutella instead of buttercream. Let's hope this year's cake comes out as good-looking as this one!

Aw, thanks! Fortunately, I didn't get to see them carve up Raph. I woulda cried!

And yes, I did indeed post up this year's cake!  You can find it here:

For some reason, his bandana looks more blue than purple in the picture, which irks me.

I love it! In the larger version of the picture you can see a bit more purple.

Can you really? Well, that's good. It was actually more of a royal purple than the blue-violet color in the picture, but the lighting kinda threw the colors off.

Thanks! Working on the Donny cake today. I'm a bit nervous that it won't come out as good as this one.

You can do it!  I wish we could eat some!

Hey, mind if I ask something?  With David and I we share food.  I think that is because are are the same person, a median with a fictional aspect, instead of fully separate minds.  So when we enjoy something, we can enjoy it together, or so it seems to us.  I don't have a body of my own and I am not that connected to Mistgod's body really physically.  I live mostly within experiences in day dreams as a projected personality into a dream setting, if you follow.  I am a mental being, not a physical one.  But I am aware of everything he experiences, like a partner sorta, or that is we imagine that I am aware.

ANYWAYS, do you guys share foods and how does that work?  Do you eat meals together or take turns or what?  Sorry but I was just suddenly curious with the whole making a cake situation and tasting it.  Who all does the cooking, the tasting and the eating?

Incidentally, Davie loves pickles and I abhor pickles, ick!

You know what's funny? A few weeks ago, we came across a blog post from Fantasma-System about their food preferences and the like, which made us reminisce about our various diet quirks. In fact, at the moment, I think ours is the only comment on it, so you should check out that blog entry, too! It was a fun read. Find it here: Blog #6 (May be triggering, proceed with caution)

In our comment, we touch a bit about our food preferences, too. We even provide links to our online journal on Diaryland, which specifically discuss our adventures with meal times! So, no, I wish we would take turns sometimes, but mostly we just need to agree on something. It's not that big of an ordeal, because there are very few foods that as individuals we don't agree on. Those foods, we try to avoid, like Jack liking canned raviolis, but the rest of us thinking they're the most disgusting things on the planet.    On rare occasions, if we know there is a particular food that one of us enjoys most, we will let that person have the meal all to themself, no sharing, so the rest of us don't risk ruining it.

When it comes to baking, and cooking in general, BB is our chef right there. I don't really like cooking, I'm too lazy for it, but I post up the cake pictures here (as opposed to Grizzly on his page, for example) because I'm the one who takes over for the design part of it. BB stops being involved the instant the cooking part is over, then I dress it up and make it look pretty.

Art to me, is art, whatever medium it comes in. For cake decorating, I really don't care what I'm making art out of; I could be using Play-Doh for all I care. For example, BB doesn't like wasting food. Whenever she's baking the cake we're going to later turn into an art piece, she will get volunteers (usually my sister's kiddos) to lick the frosting off whisks and spatulas, lick the batter bowl clean, etc. She'll even turn any extra batter she may have into cupcakes to either give away or turn into cake pops or spackle paste. However, I have no qualms with throwing things away once they've served their purpose. So once I'm carving out a cake, or trimming off excess fondant, I'll throw the scraps away, because I'm too busy concentrating on what I'm doing. The kids often circle me during this time, reminding me not to throw the scraps, or begging if they can take them before they end up in the trash.

So the process goes something like this: I design, BB bakes, I take over again to plate the food/form the cake, and we usually have Ninja and Jack taste test, because they'll try anything.

Wow, what a team effort!  It sounds like things run pretty smoothly!  That is pretty fascinating!

Okay, I will go check out the blog you linked, but if I start to feel uncomfortable, I can always go read something else.  The only thing that is "triggering" to Mistgod and I is talk about how some people are not real or faking or that someone is real and someone is not.  We absolutely hate that crap.  It is all imaginary on the internet, all of it.  There isn't a single head person or whatever you wanna call it that is more real than another in the objective outside universe, and that outside objective universe includes the internet.

Oops sorry.  Damn I can't help but rant and I haven't even had a trigger yet.  I triggered my own little self.  Silly me.

The way we see it is that boundary between the subjective inner world of each person is the thing that sorta kinda transforms things into all being more or less equal when it comes to personas.  When I write to you, do I seem any different than any headmate, soulbond, super sentient tulpa, daemon or alternater personality you have ever come across?  NOPE  AND that is our point.  No one can tell Mistgod and I what is going on with us is this thing or that thing or lesser or greater or crazy or spastic or whatever.  It's our thing in our own mindspace and the we talk to you guys, who are in your own mindspace.  The process that happens to bring it all about is totally irrelevant.  The outside world results are identical.

There was some talk about someone testing brains to see if a person imagining a day dream and another person experiencing a tulpa have different brain patterns.  Some suggested that because you can supposedly see and hear a tulpa it is going to light up the parts of the brain for actually seeing and hearing with the senses.  Well, okay.  For a second lets say that is true (I am still skeptical).  But even if it is true, that does not mean that the way Mistgod experiences me is not just as profound an experience, even if how it is experienced is a little different than someone else.  For one thing, his imagination is extremely vivid, so he may not have to experience an auditory or visual hallucination when his internal ability to visualize is so strong.

That's it.  Sorry, but it is nice to talk to a receptive audience who does not freak at these ideas immediately.  This is the kind of writing that was angering many.  It is so scary isn't it?

Well, it runs smoothly now, ha! But we've had our whole life to practice, so there's that. The blog mentioning trigger terms is actually what Fantasma System named their entry. I read it, and didn't find anything "triggering" about it. Maybe they just named it that to be on the safe side. Who knows? Maybe food is a trigger term for some folks?

And I don't mind your or Mistgod's rants. I'm just happy to help. Yeah, I doubt that study will get any concrete evidence one way or another. Did you know, that back in the 70's and 80's, some plural systems and the media spread the stigma tthat true multiples were supergenius multitaskers who could interfere with electrical equipment, so sessions of a multiple under hypnosis were supposedly hard to capture on audio or videotape? It's been disproven in the decades since. No human, either of a singular mind or plural one has exibited heightened electrical currents in their body of a strength to disrupt electronics. The only thing that's ever been proven is that the neurons inside a plural person's brain fire off impulses faster or more often than a person who's singular, even when neither are stressed, but all that proves is that multiples are constantly overthinking things.

That blog made an interesting point about one fundamental difference between an active imagination system and a true plural, arguments and disagreements between system mates.  I love that!  Mistgod and I DO have disagreements and we do argue, but that is because Mistgod's mind wants to imagine how I would feel about things.  It is always thinking just a bit ahead and providing the personality elements of the Melian Show.  LOL  It is difficult to "click Melian's off switch" after all these years so it is much like a plural system in that sense.  But it is less likely to be a source of real anxiety as Mistgod views it as all part of a fantasy.  However, he has found himself going out of his way to apologize to me or make amends for hurting my feelings.  NOTE:  Leonard Nimoy has disagreements with Spock in his mind (again read the book LOL)

Again, that is where ordinary imagining and FPP part.  It is extremely immersive and seems real even if the person imagining realizes it is a figment or fantasy.

I wonder, again, if these "tests" would show difference between FPP imagining and a multiple mind.  But even if there are differences that does not mean that immersive imagining is not a profound or "real" or valid experience.

Note: Ordinary every day people have internal arguments with themselves every day, hence the phrases "internal debate," "listening to that little voice." and "I debated with myself."  Just because plural system members argue and disagree does not mean that other kinds of imaginary peoples don't or can't.
