Just a quick comic I drew up about how I feel about Mass Effect 3's ending after I played the extended cut. If you haven't played it yet, BEWARE SPOILERS AHEAD....Even though the extended cut did indeed provide some closure, I felt that whatever choices I had made in the game didn't much matter in the end. I got 3 choices, I went with destroy as its the only one where Shepard survives. I love that the end scene where your love interest hesistates when placing Shepard's name on the wall and there is a look of hope on their face (not that you can tell much with Garrus). I firmly believe that Garrus would refuse to believe that Shepard is dead. So this is just a little snippet of what I think would have been great if it had been added.

I chose the destroy ending too. For me, it's the only acceptable ending. I didn't want Shepard to die! Because in the destroy ending, there is a chance that Shepard might have survived.
Of course, I still felt bad about the geth and EDI, but they could be rebuilt right?
In my opinion, the reapers must be destroyed, because of all the suffering they caused. That means that I share the same opinion about the reapers with a certain prothean... (Yeah I likeΒ Javik a lot,Β please don't judge me. 
Garrus would not give up on Shepard that easily! I chose the destroy ending to give him some hope. I could never leave him behind!

Why was it so hard to give the people who faithly play the game, spent their money and enriched BW, MS and EA the ending that most of us wanted, esp. if we had worked so paragon hard to EARN it? Thanks to all the great artist who make up for their lack of awareness. You did a great job here.

I feel bad for EDI and the Geth, but I believed my Shepard would make that decision, she set out to destroy the reapers, and controlling them or forcing genetic change of all life just wasn't an option. Plus, there's a chance that she could survive, meaning her and Garrus could be reunited.

Actually, I'm kind of content with the fact that Shepard gives her/his life for the cause - it does fit the game, after all it was always about difficult choices and tough decisions
But I am absolutely sure that each one of the LI's and Garrus even more so, would go to the ruins of the Citadel to search, at leas for a body to bury (*cough* although not in my case, since I chose Synthesis

In my first play through before I got the extended cut, I chose synthesis too, and I did feel content with the fact that I'd chosen the noblest option which does save many more lives.
But when I saw the extended cut on YouTube (I had to wait longer coz I only have ME 3 on PS3) and each LI's reaction in the destroy ending I concluded, quite selfishly, that was the option my Shepard would take. Plus, I'm a sucker for a happy ending, even if it was just a glimmer of hope.
