“Hah...Hah...Hah…” I panted hard, grabbing my knees looking down at the ground, “Did… We… Win…?” I asked, looking at the team I was assembled with.

“We have to wait for Judd to tell us that.” One said, fixing his Splatter Shot over his shoulder, “You ok buddy? You don’t seem to hot.” He asked, looking a little concerned.

I shook my head slightly, “Naw, Naw… I’m fine, just not used to this…” I replied as I stood back up.

“Your new to Turf Wars then?” A girl behind me asked, “You seemed pretty advanced for some noob player who just joined…”

Almost at that instant, everyone started to stare at me, raising their tap-pads at me; checking my profile, “Uh… Guys…?” I asked, slightly embarrassed and nervous; the fact that everyone on my team started checking my stats at the exact same time was a bit awkward.

“You're just… Level…1…?” The guy with the splatter shot said in confusion, his mouth slightly open as he stared at me, “But… You you… How… That’s crazy.”

“Yup, he’s level 1… You were like a natural and this is your first time at turf wars…” The girl agreed, “That alone is pretty dang impressive, not many first timers are this good when they first join in.” She concluded, smirking as she crossed her arms, “Speaking of which, are you in any teams yet? My group is still looking for an extra member, you’d fit in just fine.” she walked up to me with a slight smile.

“Wait, dude, you should join my team! Do NOT trust her, she’s been looking to get rid of one of her members forever now.” The guy exclaimed as he crossed his arms, glaring at her as he spoke.

“I don’t mean to interject, buutttt...Aren’t both of you doing that…?” A younger boy came in, his bangs covering his eyes; he had a simple and gentle look about him as he carried a large gun that seemed like a different version of the splatter shot, “Come on… Stop messing with him, if he’s this good, he’s probably already in a team.” he said.

I had almost forgotten, he was right about that, I was already in a team, “Oh… Yeah, I am, yeah, sorry… A...heh…” I laughed nervously, scratching the back of my head.

“Oh...Right, sorry about that; didn’t mean to seem ru----” The guy stopped suddenly as our TP’s went off, we all quickly turned our attention to that, reading the results.

“That’s seriously sick man… 2000p... “ He muttered as he began walking towards the exit; everyone soon followed afterwards, the doors to the exit opened up.

I started walking forward and scratched my head awkwardly, “I didn’t expect to get so much attention from a single match…” I muttered as I came closer to the exit.

“Hey, Kanra!” A voice shouted as I went up to the exit, I turned and saw the shorter Inkling running up to me, “... I don’t know how you're so good at this but try to keep away from people taking advantage of that, try staying in team battles with your own team… Trust me, it’s safer that way for you.” he said quickly as he then walked past me stopping a few feet infront of me, “I have an inkling suspicion that we’ll meet again, but next time, we’ll be on the opposing teams… I look forward to it.”

I flinched as he walked off, slightly startled but most of all, confused, “Who… was he…?” I asked myself, looking at my TP and going through each icon; at the bottom, it read, ‘Erune’ was his name. Level 5. It didn’t sound familiar, but I guess I left one heck of an impression on him specifically. I shrugged slightly and put the TP away as I began walking out the exit, the music sounded out as the doors closed behind me; it was just another day in Inkopolis, my second day, and things have already started off interesting.

“Yo! Kanra!” Some one shouted, I turned to my left and noticed Eichi running up along the sidewalk towards me, waving her hand and smiling.

“Oh, hey Eichi.” I smiled slightly, putting my hands in my pockets, “Whats up?”

She stopped and shrugged, “I just finished setting everything up for our team, so now we’re official, but we still need two more members an’ all that to be complete team.” she explained, stretching a little, “Have you got settled into your new apartment?” Eichi asked, looking around me.

“Oh, yeah, I have; apparently my parents had set up things for me already, they also included some clothes and a new weapon…” I gave her a slight grin and shrugged a little, “But it’s not as good as the ones you gave me, so I left them in my inventory.”

“And here I thought your parents just shoved you on the train and everything?” She asked bluntly.

“Oh, well, I didn’t mean it literally... “ I chuckled awkwardly, feeling a bit embarrassed for saying that the other day, “I meant that...Well, I was kind of… Hesitant on going, and I ended up wasting a lot of time… So… Up till the last minute…. Yeahhhh….” I bit my lips and looked the other way, cringing slightly at how stupid I sounded.

“So… You were just scared, of leaving home?” She asked, again, bluntly, she was always so blunt; it was horrible for my self of steam.

“Yeah...Pretty much…” My head sunk as I let out a groan.

She started to chuckle a bit, patting my head; a little hard at that, “Ah don’t worry about it, you definitely aren’t the only one who was scared about leaving home.” she smiled.

I rose my head and looked at her curiously, “You mean you were too?” I asked.

“NOPE! In fact, I was glad to get out of town.” She laughed, crossing her arms, “I was better off leaving and I don’t regret it at all!” Eichi continued with a smirk.

I furrowed my eyebrows at her and squinted, “Your lying.” I replied quickly, shooting a glare at her.”

At that moment, I saw her entire body literally froze up and her eyes widened considerably. Bingo. I still haven’t figured her out, she’s strange, but I can tell at least this much about her. She slowly turned her head to me and became slightly quiet, “I was pretty glad to leave, that’s all there is to it.” she said simply, “Anyway, let’s get going, the old man probably still has more work for us…”

“...Alright.” I sighed, having almost forgotten the whole ordeal with the Great Zapfish being kidnapped, although it’s supposed to be a pretty big thing; still no one reacted a whole lot to it, which really didn’t help on trying to remember the urgency of getting it back. Eichi was already ahead of me, walking towards the sewer grate, I didn’t follow at first; just watching her walk. She was slow and looked pretty sombersome as she did.

Eichi Moor. There was more to this girl than what she leads on, she tries to be a head on, happy go lucky person, but there’s something else going on; still, I didn’t want to ask her directly. It’s either I figure it out on my own, or she tells me herself. At this point in time, I don’t think she fully trusts me, she just sees me as an ally. Though I’m still curious on what’s going on, why she acts like this and who she really is. There is still so much I have yet to learn about this place.
