So does the model have to stay completely still for the whole time? Or do you take breaks but try to get her back in the same pose again later?
I don't know if that affects lighting and what not in the image... do you make your own lighting when you paint so it's almost the same each time?

hi Zenarrus..yes she has to sit still with breaks every 20 minutes.
I always paint portraits in the morning with a north light at the same time...by the afternoon the light is completely different.

Wow so this one only took you about 2 hours too? I am seriously astounded, I always imagined painting would take months.
So by the time you get the sketch/outline out do you already have the lighting down on the picture? Or do you just use the lighting that is there when you progress to that point of shading in the picture?
I've never painted/drawn a picture of a live model before, almost did once at an art studio but the models backed out at the last second, they were like the first we had in years too. :I

Beautiful work, I love how in every new 'thing' you paint, you bring in the colour of something else. That orange glow behind her hair adds such luminance, and when contrasted with the green of the shadows brings out her eyes. i love hte painterly textures you have made, and detail in the face. Great work!
