Back in September 2014, we unexpectedly lost our gorgeous black mare, Dash, to cancer. We were unaware of her condition despite having annual vet checks, and she appeared healthy until one morning we found her rolling around in the field. We automatically assumed colic, and the vet tried his hardest to save her. But her pain was too much for her to bear, and she had reached her maximum dose for pain killers that the vet could administer. So, with heavy hearts, we said our goodbyes and planted tender kisses as she was put to sleep. An autopsy later showed that she had been battling cancer and it had finally taken over her body.
