At young age, Princess Charmae was held in high esteem by her parents for her beauty. However, while Princess Charmae was beautiful, slowly but surely, it became her only best trait.

As a child, Princess Charmae began to prefer her father King Allen over her mother. She preferred to walk with him, play with him, and have him read stories to her at night. When asked why, Charmae replied, "Daddy is better looking."

Charmae had many admirers because of her beauty. However, she deemed all of them too unattractive for her and avoided them. She even insulted some of them, calling them 'disgusting', 'ugly' or 'dislikeable'. Except for the persistent few, many of Charmae's admirers stopped pursuing her after a few years, appalled by her behaviour.

When she grew older, her personality did not really improve. Her preference of her father over her mother became stronger, up to the point where she requested Queen Depressa stay in her bedroom during her thirteenth Birthday. Queen Depressa, who was starting to feel unwanted by her daughter, could only sit disappointed and stare out the window at the festivities.

Upon finding out about this, King Allen became uneasy around Princess Charmae; he didn't like it that she only wanted him around because he was the 'better-looking' parent. When he tried talk to his daughter about it, he received the reply, "I can't help it. I only like looking at nice things."

Indeed, personality and skill meant almost nothing to Charmae, only plus points if a person had the looks. The friends she hung out with were only those who were rich, and those she deemed 'with outstanding appearance'. Those who she claimed were average or ugly, like her own mother, she shunned.

An infamous incident occured during her Song Day: Queen Depressa withdrew herself from the celebration, as Charmae had requested, and instead decided to dress as a peasant woman and stand among the others. Ironically, the song painted Charmae as a beautiful Princess with a 'kind, generous heart'. Those who knew otherwise, or recognised their beloved Queen standing among them, immediately booed the performance, disgusted by Charmae's attitude towards her own mother. Princess Charmae was forced to withdraw from the balcony in humiliation.

After being crowned, Queen Charmae introduced a plan that would become the most controversial plan ever since Queen Helano's 'Cleansing of Mewni' - The Beauty Layout, some called it. Charmae spent a year observing Mewmans and outlining plans to shift households of those who were 'better-looking' to the centre of the kingdom, therefore pushing other households to the borders of the Kingdom. She replaced her Mewnisters using the same method she had always used: despite any merit or wisdom, as long as one was 'old' or 'ugly', she would not choose him or her. This layout of the Queen's attracted very strong criticism and opposition, resulting in the first Mewman riot they had seen in years, not since Princess Star's Song Day.

Queen Charmae had most of the rioters imprisoned, but they were released at the request of her mother. Seeing nothing could be helped, Depressa decided to move to the borders of Mewni as well, to care for these people whom her daughter so heartlessly neglected. Despite Charmae's protests, Allen decided to join his wife, warning Charmae that she had gone too far this time. Allen and Depressa would stay at the borders, estranged from their daughter and the royal family, until their deaths. They would be brought home and buried at the request of Charmae's daughter.

As for Queen Charmae, the castle began to look more empty without her parents, and she felt lonely. Rather than call for her parents to return however, she decided to arrange her own marriage. Looking at all the heirs of the noble houses, she selected Enzo Scale as her husband. While, yes, in terms of eye candy they made a good couple, Enzo knew that Charmae only married him for his looks. She ignored any attempts from him to try to build a relationship, which made him disheartened. As a result, Enzo began having affairs with other women. Upon finding out, Charmae was infuriated. But once again, not swallowing her own pride, she retaliated by having affairs as well. Despite their infidelity, Charmae and Enzo made absolutely sure that they would not produce any bastard children.

After a few years, Charmae became pregnant by her husband and gave birth to a daughter, Elenia Butterfly. As Charmae had hoped, Princess Elenia was a beautiful girl, and the Queen didn't hesitate to show her off, which only made her daughter more uncomfortable.

While Elenia did not inherit Charmae's vanity, thank goodness, Elenia soon began to abuse her beauty in some other way.
