turtles!these guys are so cute, and apparently my new obsession
naaa, the name doesnt really have anything to do with the song yertle the turtle apart from the fact it has turtles in it.
normaly if i name somethign after a song the pic will be a representation of something in the song.
this is just turtles
done with water colours, salt, and primas!

its such a cool technique, all you do is use water colours to get the colours that you want, and sprinklle salt over it whilst its still wet. you get different effects depending on how wet the page is. you should try it! great for back grounds if you cant be arsed to do a really detailed one

put a bit of water down on the page
and just got through adding all teh different colours you want, so its all nice and blochey-you can really go wrong and if something dosent look right-just stick some more colour on!
and then, oo the magic part, you get some salt! yes salt, and sprinkle it all over the page(or jsut where you want it) and you get a really cool effect. you also get diferent afects depending on how much of what you use. i've done it on [link] and [link]
i dunno if you've heard of her, but goldenwolf [link] usees it alot on her backgrounds. have a go! whats the worse that can happen?

and dear god, this helped so much! by a twist of chance, our assignment in art class last thursday was to work in watercolors, and your advice on washes and blotchiness/looking at your work was of infinite help
