Description I poked my head out of the well in a rundown old shack and climbed out into the shadows.  Rats scurried passed my feet.  I didn't care.  I walked up the rickety old stairs and slid open the broken doors.  I stepped out into the night.

I had been to Ana's time once before.  But it still amazed me.  Tall buildings everywhere and people dressed strangely.  Some even stranger than Ana.  I took to the air, leaping from one building to the next.  I knew where her house was.

She was supposed to be back in my time.  It had been three days, she said she'd be home.  I came to her time to get her, she knows better than to keep me waiting.  I landed in the front yard of a small house set back away from the busy city.  I walked up to the front door and slid it open.  Walking out of the kitchen, with a tea tray in his hands, was her grandfather.  He had to be as old as Myoga, if not older.  His eyebrows reminded me of fuzzy gray caterpillars.  He wore a comfortable looking kimono and pants.  Socks on his feet  Ana had said that he was a priest, but he really wasn't much of one.  She told me once that she used to help him take care of the Shrine.  But then he got too old to do it.

"Inuyasha!"  He said.  I looked at him.  "What in all the worlds are you doing here?"

"I've come to get Anayame."  I declared and started toward her room.  "She was supposed to be back in three days.   She's not back yet."

"As much as I respect you, Inuyasha, I really wish you'd be a little bit more polite!"  He grumbled following me up the stairs to her room.

"She should know not to keep me waiting."  I said.  I slid open the doors to Ana's room and was ready to go off on her.  Until I saw her, at least.

She was lying in bed, her nose was red and her face was pale.  Her red hair was tied into a tail at the base of her neck.  Her blankets were up to her chin.  Gramps pushed passed me and sat beside Ana on her bed.  She opened her eyes and coughed a little.  She sat up slowly and looked at me.

"Hi, Inuyasha."  She said.  Her voice seemed strained.  "What are you doing here?"

"I came to get you.  You were supposed to be with me."  I told her.

"Anayame has been sick for three days."  Gramps said, handing her a cup of tea.  She took it and sipped it.  He got up with the now empty tray.  "But how would you know that?"  He said smartly.

"You barged in, didn't you?"  Anayame asked me.  When I didn't answer, she laughed.  "It's alright, Inuyasha."  Gramps smiled at me and left the room.

I turned to leave as well.  "Inuyasha,"  She started.  I looked at her.  "Don't go."

I blinked a couple times.  "Feh!"  I huffed and crouched on the floor.  She leaned over her bed and tugged my ear.  Her clothing was only a white shirt without sleeves and striped pants.

"Every one needs a day off."  She said softly.  "Even hanyou."  She said.  I got up and sat on her bed with her.  She laid back against the pillows.

"I didn't know you were sick."  I said.

"Eh, it's only a cold.  I'll just have to rest a few more days, that's all."  She said.  "I'll be fine in maybe another day or two."  I ran my fingers along her face, pushing her hair back out of her eyes.  She smiled at me.

"Sorry I made you wait."  She said.

I laid down beside her.  "I'm really pissed at you because of that, too."  I joked.

She chuckled.  She laid her head on my chest.  I was caught off guard at first, then I put my arm around her.  "Thank you for coming after me."  She said, she sighed and fell asleep.
