I know right?! I feel very bad for her, honestly. She's been through so much, and I have my own head cannon that she used to be very energetic and talkative, but the events revolving around the Determination experiments and the Amalgams tore her up inside turning her into who we know in the game. I've always felt that, even though she legitimately love it, her obsession with anime could be a coping mechanism as well, since depressed people sometimes become obsessed with something to distract themselves from their troubles. The more I think about it the more sad I get :c

That does make sense :/ aside from Undyne, anime is one of the only things she is really passionate about, and it makes her so happy. Her persona is completely different. So it's no doubt a coping mechanism. Poor Alphy, we love you!
