THE CONCEPT
This is my vision of Nøkken's female form, and other dark creatures of the forest. A Nøkk is an evil, shapeshifting water spirit from Scandinavian folklore, sometimes seen in human form. He often appears as a white horse, a maid, a floating log or a man playing the violin. He is a personification of the dangers of water, and can be found in rivers, lakes and waterfalls . Usually he tries to lure people to the shore with song, enthralling music or beauty - to drown them in the deeps.
