Description This was another commission for the lovely .... She was going to a con as Loli Ed and asked me to maker her a pin...so I was more than happy to do it!

And I learned a new skill while making this pin too! I wanted the rose to look metal-ish... Silk flowers weren't going to do that, So I decided to learn how to sculpt polymer clay roses! And there's my result...Could still use some work but not bad for my first try I'd say!

Planning on making more of these roses... probably some smaller ones...they're quit heavy.... I might have to play around with some different clay and what not..I used premo for this cuz I know that premo is a little more durable than sculpey... and it was easy to work with... and they had the color I needed!

The charm is out of shrink plastic....I used a drawing that drew as a reference...

I don't know if it's available where you are but try looking for paper magiclay. It's clay that is as light as paper and more durable than polymer clay.

oh cool..I'll try doing some research on that... how do you go about getting it? does it come in a bunch of colors?

Usually I just buy it at my craft store (they usually only stock plain white) but I found a lady on eBay that sells them in all different colours [link]

I had a quick look on eBay for you and found some sellers in the United States

Premo huh? Got me curious as to what could be made out of some more durable materials. Jaiden's more talented than myself at sculpting but more knowledge couldn't hurt either of us.

Rose turned out great btw.

yeah... It's a little more expensive than sculpey...and it has a little more stretch to it? I guess you would say? I kinda like the way it feels better...you should test it out...just buy like one of those small blocks of it....I think Kato is even better..probably more expensive..but that's what mike uses when he's customizing his figures and what not...
