Gwen Stacey is seen to be a normal young adult who meets Peter Parker as they begin developing feelings for each other and eventually a relationship. Gwen is a responsible, smart, and caring person at heart who is not afraid of backing out and sticks by Peter's side at most times.

But one night, something eerily familiar happened to her. One of the spiders from Oscorp (the same kind that gave Peter his powers) hitchhiked in her bag and bit her in her sleep, thus giving her spider powers.

Freaked out at first, Gwen proceeded to adjust to her abilities through some training. Utilizing some ballet moves she'd learned from practice and web shooting and swinging practice in an abandoned warehouse, Gwen was able to become light and agile as well as strong and quick-witted. Finally, she created her own unique costume by combining a hoodie, leotard and ballet shoes and began helping others in secret, as the mysterious Ghost Spider.

She worked solo until she and Spider-Man crossed paths and eventually revealed their true selves. Gwen would continue as Ghost Spider, aiding Spidey whenever the time was appropriate up until one dark night...
