amnesia lied to me.WELL AT LEAST GAMEFAQS OR SOMETHING DID.
Someone wrote somewhere that the monster in Amnesia's "Justine" DLC is completely blind. So I ran out like a boss and it's like

Nah they are all blind, but they have acute hearing, which thigh-high water+ stone walks + lots of noise.
Plus I think Malo says that just to scare you.

What. Malo never saw me. Odd. I hid in the corner, and he was all like "DURP I CAN SEE YOU JUSTINE". I crouched and walked past him. I believe the reason why most people can't escape him is because they make all those splashes in the water. I managed to open a gate without Malo noticing me.
But I still hate him.

Actually~ *corrects* I'm pretty sure two of three are blind. xD You can stand right in front of Alois and Basile and they will walk right by; Justine blinded Basile and odds are Alois blinded himself. But for some reason--despite not having any eyes, same character model as the other two--Malo CAN see you. And yeah, he'll tell you he can see you. xD Scared the piss out of me too...
But yeah. x'D You win a cookie for this.

Someone needs to kick that game guide site in the nads. It said, and I quote, all the monsters are blind.
And yeah I learned the hard way that Malo can see. I finally got past Basile and I was like YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I actually went and edited the Amnesia Wiki to state that Malo probably was not blind because he has no trouble finding you. xD Then again, the water on the floor doesn't help, since you can't move without making a shit-ton of noise and it doesn't slow him down at all, but bogs you down like you're carting luggage... Still, he says he can see you. That's about all the proof you need. >3>;
They probably did that on purpose. xD Justine is a short game but just to mix it up, they make you feel smart by thinking they're blind, then toss Malo in there. Whose jerk idea was THAT?

It was the least I could do. Sure, that scare is intentional, but AFTER everybody and their mother has that heart-attack, you know they'll be running to that Wiki to see WTF just happened...and that, my friends, is called mind rape.
Sadly, jerks make the best games. xD I swear, schoolyard bullies grow up to become horror game designers...but hey, getting scared is fun. After you're doing screaming and throwing your mouse.

That's the first guy? Basile? If it is then you know that you have to hide in the first room at the left...if it's the last you found the monster because you were not fast enough to hide and run...and died!!
but that's some nasty monter and the worst part is you have to restart the game and start all over again.

I think the monsters can hear walking, if you stay in one spot it won't come after you. Later on in the game when you open one of the lever doors FIND THE COG AN RUN. One of the monsters will chase you and won't go away x3
