Yuya Matsushita happens to currently be my favorite artist since... probably his song "foolish foolish" came out?His PV for "PARADISE" came out here: [link]
The album should be available/released in Feb.
It was such a gorgeous PV I kept pausing at different points and sketching. This was my favorite sketch so I wanted to watercolor it. Unfortunately I was sketching on printer paper which is awful for water/shading with watercolors. Either way, I guess I like how it came out... more or less.

When people at my college ask me what I'm listening to which is mainly Jpop and Kpop, they look at me like I'm weird. I can't help it if their music is addicting!

I get that a lot too. Even with people who are fans of mangas. (one girl just found out what Yaoi was, but shes not the brightest color in the box of crayons. OTL) but I seem to have found a nice group of people who like K-pop, J-pop, etc as well : ) its nice!
Its even funnier when people go "what are you listening to?" and I go "this guy!" and I show them the music video - the music for a moment. "Oh, hes hot!" "isn't he? : )" ....and I turn on the music. "It's not in english!? Is that CHINESE? (because all asian countries only speak chinese according to the world)" "haha! no! Japanese! ...you actually expected him to sing in english?" (sometimes I'll turn to a song he sings in English but... not often.)
Its always funny xD I usually make them watch "4 seasons" first because its so happy and stuff~

Ah you're lucky! I only know one person but now I don't see her as much so I'm all alone again T_T A lot of people at my school like the whole techno sound which is okay from time to time for me but not ALL the time. Oh yeah people judge really hard at my school if they find out you like manga. People are so judgmental sometimes at my school.
AHAHHAAHHA oh yeah people think Asians speak the ching long language right? And I love 4 seasons! It seriously a happy song. If I'm feeling sad, I just listen to that song and I feel so much better! really? In my middle, high and college I've never been judged badly for liking "comics" (as they call it). I was more judged for being passive (at the time, but no longer) and quiet. Also, I would get good grades all the time so... : / but people were generally nice to me! In college I'm making friends with people who like all different kinds of things (music, anime, tons of stuff!) but.. when I mention I like Manga and sometimes dress up as characters for fun... yeah, sometimes I get a weird look and have to explain it but.. other than that I don't really get much~ : ) Same gos for if somebody hears my ringtone (SECRET LOVE - Yuya~ <3 ) than again-- it goes both ways. A lot of girls at my college are really religious so.. if they don't judge me, I won't judge them. (or vise versa.) and if they DO judge me? Shame on them because I'm a good person and friend : )
YES, YES THEY DO! It's really annoying. Especially when people can't tell the difference between Japanese, Chinese and Korean. (mainly in writing I mean-- because all three in all forms look SO different its sad when people think KOREAN is CHINESE. I "facepalm" forever at some people.)

OMG I love watching Yuya's live performances! Especially SECRET LOVE from his concert...they way he moves those hips...my nose bleeds every time. What am I talking about? All of his lives are amazing. I never thought he would come to the US but he's going to be at Fanime and I've never been so excited in my entire life! I'm going and I can't wait to see him perform IN THE FLESH and meet other Yuya fans! I realize Yuya fans are so nice like you! I'm not alone in this world!

(I actually recently found out I have a friend who gets talked down to by her FRIEND who is into MARVEL and DC! They used to be into Anime and Cosplaying but "outgrew" it and claim "oh, I've matured and COMICS are better" : / ... silly person must not realize that in Japan GROWN ADULTS read a lot of manga too so its not even a question of maturity! When I lived with a host family in Japan in 2006, my "Okaasan" and "Otousan" both read manga plenty! Their house was FULL of it. : | )

Oh yeah I know. Each is different from each other. Granted it helps that I listen to a lot of JPop and Kpop to the tell the difference and my friend speaks Mandarin to her mom so I know how it sounds.

I wish people understood that about Japan and Manga in general. Its really not just "for kids" : / its not all DORAEMON (which I love hahaha).. theres stuff out there kids definitely don't need to see. : / or very adult stories! Its the same with comic-books is the US really! I'm no comic expert but I really don't get it when its more accepted to like batman versus.. I don't know.. Izaya? XD (personally, I find Izaya more fascinating but thats just me. No offense, Batman. I like you and you're cool too.. but yeah XD)
Yes, I lived in Japan for a month o.o 2 1/2 weeks with a host family in Okayama/Okutama. The rest of the time my EIL group traveled around Japan to Shinjuku, Tokyo, Kyoto, Shibuya, Nara, Ikebukuro, and more! It was amazing and life changing! I was.. 17 at the time, I believe? It was my first time being far from home on my own.. but I definitely suggest going to Japan : ) 110-- no. 180% if not more! I've been to England (london mainly), France (Paris mainly), and Norway (Oslo mainly) as well~ But there are SO many places on my list! Denmark (I have family there), Germany (family there + friends too!), Italy (I've heard beautiful things), Greece, Ireland, etc <3 (and than travel back to all of the places again.. HAH!!!)
My mom can at least tell the difference when she sees Korean vs Chinese and Japanese.. unfortunately I haven't come across a lot of people who can do that. (well⦠unignorent people that is. ) ⦠I mean, some people I know don't go "thats Korean" or "thats chinese" but they can tell its different : / ⦠I give points for that! Just as long as they don't go "ITS ALL CHINESE!" rofllll ;;; (its cool, I seem to have a lot of Korean friends, some Japanese, and some Chinese so.. ;; hahaha ~ it does help! Kpop and Jpop do help a lot too!)

Oh I've heard of Otakon! Wow really no good acts come out there? I'm sorry that sucks. The biggest con I go to every year is AX and they've just announced that there's going to be a virtual concert by Miku Hatsune. I'll only go if my friend wants to because I know she likes Miku a lot but who knows.
Oh I agree with you. I haven't read a lot of US comics; I just mostly watch the ones that get turned into an animated show like Justice League and Batman the Animated Series. Anyway I just find the characters in manga a little bit more interesting personally. And Izaya is pretty cool
Wow you've been to a lot of places! I'm so jealous! I've always wanted to travel to those places but I don't have any money. Are they exchange trips for most of them or studying abroad? I know I tried to apply for an exchange trip to Japan but I didn't get in because my family isn't a "wholesome" family like my parents are divorced and I guess they didn't like that haha. I've been getting that way too! I mean, I used to have a list of like.. 10 cosplays I wanted to do but.. with time I've pulled away from it I guess? I'm still picky but its more of a self-confidence and comfort thing now? Or "who would I look best as"? I'm not sure, its strange! (and man I feel old XD)
Zombie walks are amazing! You should go to one! : ) Definitely be a zombie! Survivors are cool and all but in my honest opinion its more fun to start out as a zombie~ (Survivors run from the zombies at the start of the walk, screaming and warning people. Basically "oh god! The zombies are coming! Are you MAD just standing there!? THOMAS! THOMAS WE'RE BROTHERS! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!?" they interact with everyone, as do the zombies, but.. yeah XD usually at some point they're "caught" and zombified on the ground in a pile that makes it like they're being mauled. Its all a good work out, being a zombie or survivor. We had an englishman survivor XD so funny!~) Its awesome!
Not that I've seen. I mean, maybe I'm picky but none have impressed me much and we're suppose to be all big and awesome. : / Its kind of disappointing, really. East Coast gets no love : P (even if we're like.. 3 hours from NYC.)

I only get to go to conventions here because of money. Usually I only go to one con per year (Which is Otakon because its the cheapest solution-- no hotels and stuff) but oh well XD I used to go to two per year until I had a really bad year at Ohayocon. Lately I've had bad con luck which has made me decide to do the Artist Alley in hopes that I'm not deathly bored and at least something good happens rofl

Oh you're mixed! I'm just Japanese but I'm fourth generation so I don't know any Japanese which is sad. Well I know a few words and phrases but I can't hold a conversation like my grandparents. My mom can speak a little and even read but I can't even read at all. Anyway I think French music is pretty cool but I haven't heard anything else beside Jpop and Kpop and of course what's on the radio right now.
