Actually he do speak in the movie.... but not very much.

Maul: “Tatooine is sparsely populated. If the trace was correct, I will find them quickly Master”
Sidious: “Move against the Jedi first. You will then have no difficulty in taking the Queen to Naboo to sign the treaty” Sidious replied.
Maul: “At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge”

Thank you so much! Ah, I guess they take a while to get used to The black is certainly annoying to use, it often turns out grey.
