And I'm remembering
The feather-blue depths,
Deepness lightened by the sun's young breath
The gossamers of mist which enchant the lake,
And, like spirits, are drawn up and away
In my alcove here where the vibrant trees wait
With open arms of natural grace
I run with my own arms open wide
To embrace the golden orb when I say goodbye.

This poem was actually written about a beautiful place in New Hampshire, but it fit with this painting just as well and so I decided to couple the two.

This is a 24' by 30' oil painting of a place called Dawson Pass in Montana. It may just be my favorite place on Earth. The beauty is absolutely astounding, and this is just a small moment of awe which I somehow managed to capture with my camera, and then (at least tried) to bring to life again with this painting. This is my biggest piece yet, and I honestly am probably more proud of it than any other.
I know I haven't posted anything in a while, so I decided to just put this out here and see where it went. Quite a bit of quality was lost with this photo, so hopefully I can update it with a better version soon.
