You can also use gimp. for each part of the animation add another layer. When you're done, same the picture as a .gif file. It should move then! However, I have trouble controlling the spend when using gimp.

Its easy, just click add more pictures for animation and then go over "Animation" and click animation settings. From there you can do what you want ^^
