After I unlocked him from the first chapter I meet him Something weird happened after I sold his bronze spear in the shop! When I sold his bronze spear and buying a new one I can't seem to equip it back with Donnel! Has anyone noticed this problem? Or is it just my game? Unless otherwise could have been a glitch or maybe I haven't got the right weapon, what was Donnel's villager class is capable of? I thought he can only use spears.

Did you get him another bronze lance, or another one of a higher rank like iron? Donnel only starts with E lances, so he needs to keep using bronze until he reaches D and can use iron lances or javelins. In Fire Emblem, you can't just equip a better weapon, you need the weapon ranks before you can upgrade.

leveled him to 20 then made him a mercenary and now i just have him solo whole groups

I never trained Donnel on my first file. but, I decided to see what he could do on my second file. He is a tank of mass destruction just like Incana(my avatar), Chrom, Lucina, and Morgan. <----- (Incana, Chrom, Lucina, and Morgan are all one big happy family!)

Give him about...two and a half years, going by the game...
Grima fears him. Marth fears him. Roy and Ike cower in shame and embarrassment.
All while Donnel, his faithful wife (I picked Cordelia) Cordelia, and their also badass daughter show Walhart who really one the Valmese war and stopped Grima.

i really like Donny he stats so we and if you train him right he can be one of your best units in the game

I paired him with Lissa, guess what, Owain ended up with 51 of luck lol, reclassed him into merc and promoted him to hero and switched back to swordmaster, he kicks ass, maxed all his stats (thank you aptitude) and never breaks a weapon, and even has enough magic to do massive damage both physically and magically.
My only complaint is that some caps are 1-2 points less and he gets more luck, but damn, he has saved my ass countless times on lunatic (and the funny part is that he has never died on me, not even as a villager while Vaike and others have fallen countless times lol), oh and what a very nice picture!, lol at donnyΒ΄s face XD

Ah, Donny, the Magikarp of FE:A. Heck, I played through FE:A again and I remember being like "Oh yeah, Donny starts off weak in the game..." This'll stop happening to you though once you become a Merc.

Someone obviously never promoted to Mercenary, otherwise this wouldn't be happening.
Seriously, I love Donny as a Merc/Hero. His stat growth can actually fill out all the Hero's massive caps, and then I just sit back and laugh as he effortlessly avoids enemy attacks and then double-taps them for 25+ on each hit with his unbreakable Wooden Stick. Easily the strongest recruit character in any FE game.

I gave him a forged Glass Axe but his luck is so high that with most pair-ups the axe will never break. So much wreckage heh.

I gave a forged Glass Axe called Face Breaker to most of my armsthrifting axe users when they were learning the ways of the axe.
That thing has 20 might. And it breaks faces.

I totally forgot about Second Seals (had in my mind it was like the recruit units in Sacred Stones) and just levelled him to 14-ish as a peasant. Gave him a max-forged bronze lance and paired him up with Panne... HE WAS A BEAST! Just sayin'.

I typically get him up to 15 and then class up to Mercenary for Armsthrift. Then he can take pretty much any weapon and use it forever, pretty much. Armsthrift is like one of my favourite skills and he's the best at using it.

I established my team (a habit for me), and it didn't include him. I had enough swords and axes. Vaike and Cherche are PLENTY on their own. XD But that sounds like a good way to use him. I may do it that way in another playthrough. ^_^

Generally I like him for being such a good babydaddy once he gets over the suck hurdle. Given the ability to do so, I have a bad habit of GRIND LEVEL EVERYONE TO PERFECTION though.
