Description
Just a piece of fanart of one of Akia's furry girls. I put her in a school girl outfit and put her hair in pigtails.There are a number of problems with this pic (her hand, the background, and a number of other things) but I'm not going to go to much into that at this point. Feel free to criticise/comment/etc as suits your needs.

Personally, I feel that this project is done (i.e. I won't be messing with it anymore). I'd be glad to have you enlighten me in this matter, though.

Well, the background is very blurry and non-specific, surely you could spend a bit more time polishing that up. The water's a bit sketchy, and you can probably fix that too. The hand needs a LOT of detail work.
To be perfectly frank, it looks like you barely spent half an hour on this. More time means more effort, and the more effort you put into something, the better it looks. Don't give up on art just because it's tedious.
If you'd rather leave it incomplete like this, I still think it'd be better suited for the scraps section.

Well thanks for the criticism, but I'm well aware of these issues. I'm still working on developing my skills in these areas (though the hand, I admit, I could have done a lot better on).
If I were to hold all of the art I have produced thus far to the standards you are exacting, it would likely all be in the scraps folder... and though I may eventually choose to thin out my gallery in this way, I don't believe I'm to the point where there is enough "better" art to warrant that.
As for the matter of time, I did spend considerably more than a half hour on this (I'm not the type that can produce anything near a high quality sketch on the fly), and I don't particularly appreciate the insinuation that I don't put any effort into my art.
That being said, I appreciate your honest views, and though I may disagree with your proposed resolution, I will (as I always have) endeavor to improve myself in the future.

well I'd say it was fan art rather than a "copy".
One major difference between copying and what I do, is that I don't duplicate the poses (and in this case the costume as well) that the characters are found in.
I don't copy work, I just reinterpret other people's characters in my own style.

Something seems a little off with the shading on her chest and her right pigtail if you look at how the light's cast. Despite, the water affect looks pretty nice, and everything aside those areas seem to be shadded well.

I personally think the water effect is terrible, but its about my first time at it anyway.

Thanks for the comments, I believe Akia still does draw from time to time, though I'd have to wait for some sort of posting on her site to confirm that.
It's a big enough site that a new update could be hidden in there somewhere without you knowing it anyway, lol.
