Description Took about 80 shots tonight ranging from 10-30 seconds. The light show driving to the airport was great, so when i stopped at the 45 minute waiting area I set up my camera and tried to capture it for humanity.

I learned a lot about photographing lightning tonight, so if you want any pointers feel free to ask.


This photo is dedicated to *fendichiq because she got my 1000th page view. Both the page views and this shot required great timing, as such, I dedicat this shot to you *fendichiq

Beautiful! I always love to see what mother Nature can do. Tho it's better that we don't know everything, all her capabilitys. Great pic, for sure.

Thats beautiful, i know how hard it is to capture a lightning bolt ive tried it myself and ended up getting a plant right where the lightning struck i love how smooth the clouds look youve done a great job!

That cloud "ruffulation" (new word I invented) looks awesome. The wat the lightning look like it is freaking lighing up the whole cloud it came from makes this uber-freaking-awesome.

Awesome shot man. I've always wanted to get a lightning strike once in my life, and here you got plenty. I really like this one, from the dark clouds into the dark night, a bright powerful light. In essense the power of nature. Well, it's also the power of the photographer. Great stuff man, keep it up.

those are the kindest words you have ever said to me. I think I'm gonna cry! Thanks a lot. Getting the lightning had nothing to do with skill, it was all pure luck. I just wish my camera was in better focus for the other bolts that i got oh well next time it will be.

I thought i got some really great shots last night and the camera wasnt in focus, or i got a lens flare from a street light, or i missed the lightning..... It is wicked hard to photograph well. So, thanks a lot for the compliment.

very cool. i love lightning. it is so powerful and brilliant. i like how it seems like it just overpowers the surroundings in this shot. some might say that it is overexposed, but i think it is a cool effect...

When I find the right photo, it will be dedicated to you. I'm thinking something with lots of detail because you show such detail in your drawings... but, maye it wont be that at all... You will just have to wait and see.
