I try to use the P mode as little as possible and play around with the M mode.

It lets you play around with the lighting so you can get very different kinds of photos. It's takes some getting used to though.

I have to try it out. My main problem is that the light in my room is very dark, so my camera very often takes dark pictures. And if I use flash it gets over exposed
