Description In days of old when Ents were young and the wood was new,
One young Ent, Wally Nuttleburr, worked where the young trees grew.
His work was not one of profit to others,
But often hurt young tree's fathers and mothers.

He pretended to tend to the needs of the trees,
But really was gathering their personal stories.
Their tales he would greatly seek to embellish,
And spread them to others with oh so much relish.

You see Wally was a gossip,
A nosey Ent with a very loose lip.
All would shutter at his very sight,
Closing their lips and locking them tight.
But all they tried hindered him not,
His nose in their business their stories he got.

A strange thing happened as stories he spread,
His nose would grow bigger as he slept in bed.
It grew and grew now the biggest part of his head,
So Wally became the woodland dread.

The trees grew sullen, never been so sad,
The Ents confided what to do with the lad.
More tall tales Wally stored,
The Ent's warnings being ignored.

So a meeting was called for every Ent,
To convince Wally he must repent,
His gosiping ways he must relent,
Or away from the wood he'd have to be sent.

But Wally refused, his ways never recanted,
So the Ents decided, he must be planted.
They dug a deep hole and put him in,
They planted Wally up to his chin.

On the side of a hill, away from the wood,
Grows old Wally for everyone's good.
They changed his name and put up a sign,
His Entish name he had to resign.

"Here grows Wally Schnoozleworm,
A gossip who seeks to do you harm.
Tell him your story, tomorrow you'll hear,
A story slightly like it coming to your ear."

So there he grows apart from the rest,
But still his big nose does its very best,
To sniff out your story his every intent,
Beware the nose of this gossiping Old Ent.

Yes, I am having fun with it. That's the funny thing about some trees, they can't what's on the other side. That's why they use the birds to see what's there and in return they can nest there. Thanks Katie

wow so much expression in the face of that old ent! I love the eyes a lot. He looks like he's been around so long and seen so much...but sad in a way because nothing really thrills him anymore. very nice work!

Thats really cool, I love images of trees being alive, well more accurately given human features to show their 'aliveness'
