Description Up in the hill country, in a hidden vale, There's a fairy field of mystery, the source of many a tale.

The field is lush with grass of many a green hue, And if you look real close there are fungus' of blue.

Now in this vale a winding path does make, Its sodden way from here to a mirrored lake.

Around the lake guardian Spruces stand in a row, Above, in the azure blue sky cotton ball clouds slowly flow.

But along the path the old folks are growin, The Beeches and Oaks and Old Man Rowan.

Now the Beeches and the Oaks weren't friendly, but did grow tall. Growing away from the path, upon the hillside and all.

In their tight little group they tease and chide, Poor Old Rowan down by the dirt path side.

He's forgotten his place and to young humans, tries to bring joy, Why look at that old fool with his branch, a swing and that boy.

And look at his face, there's a smile, and his eyes show love, As that boy child swings with his gentle shove.

You know he grew that great root so humans can rest, As they sit he fans each weary guest.

They'll grow older and cut him down, just wait and see. But it was the Beeches and Oaks who lost their way,

As they waited and watched, they grew hard and gray, They forgot how to talk and forgot how to sway.

But if some day on the path from here to the lake, on a root you sit all tired and spent, You just might look up into the smiling face of Rowan, the merry old Gent.

Wow~ Nice
It reminds me the story of 'The Kind Tree'.
The tree fed the child, raised him/her up.
And eventually, the child cut the tree down.

I love all your illustrations!!

Its been a long time since I wrote this and I never thought I would do this till I saw your work but..well..

This fits, especially this picture. I hope you like it for I have no other way of saying..wow to what I've seen. Thank you.

Little spirits flit and skirt among the meadow's flowers,
to dance with dewdrops during moonlit hours.

Elves and fairies will play with all who come to see them hither,
to show them lost childhood dreams and remember how to flitter.

But spirits come in all forms as many of you can see,
for spirits are not just fairies as many would believe.

To many spirits are children, at play among woodland trees,
their laughter the tinkling of silver bells dancing upon the breeze.

Their imagination lends a brief relief to our frantic lives,
to show us fairies still exist among our modern strife.

So please remember children are us in a future time,
but what, to give, to be a child and remember how to rhythm.

To play among the meadow flowers and race through woodland trees,
and once again to have the whimsy that fairies are to be.
