i love how you've portrayed the crystals! i really gotta learn watercolours coz my approach is very naive (only just started)... and i defo need a finer brush! it shows that you really care about each tiny mark that's made... guess im more into drawing than painting so am just trying to fill the gaps with colour... which isnt good.....
hmm.... i'm inspired to give a shit about what am doing now!

this is SOOO gorgeous! i love how you have a mirroring range of colors in her wings and the way her hands are crossed on those cyrstal shards kind of makes me think this is a majestic position to be in. if you made this a print, i would SO get it!

. . . and I'm immediately taken back to being read stories at bedtime: the colour plate illustrations in already old and well thumbed books - nothing like the cover-to-cover colour of kids books now, just black and white line drawings every couple of facing pages, on coarse hard wearing paper. But every twenty pages or so there would be a colour picture on one side of a shiny page, that looked much like this.
There's a beautiful anachronistic charm to your style, very flower-fairies / Arthur Rackham et al. Your composition and feel for colour definitely speak of an age past.
Curious to know if you're familiar with the faerie art of Brian Froud and Alan Lee? (Lee worked on the styling of LOTR, Froud on 'The Dark Crystal' and others)
And have you ever considered approaching the fey concept from the perspective of some of the less sanitized mythologies? - Rather than the edwardian pretty-child-with-wings style, more like the Celtic-mystic imagery - fearsome beauty and ugliness, awesome powers, alien motives.
Hope that's not an offensive suggestion, and it certainly isn't meant to seem critical of the beautiful work you do - I just think it would be interesting to see you apply your delicate feel for line and tone to something in a similar vein, but darker, more ambiguous, sexual even. But then, I'm a bit contrary like that . . .

I love the whole rainbow idea and how the rainbows merge into her wings and dress
